ReMarkable is in trouble and future doesn't look bright

A Kobo Libra Colour with a stylus cost less than 300€ and is amazing as a notepad. No subscription needed.

RIP Kindle Oasis - What's next?

There are a few Android eInk devices that are very similar to the 7’’ Oasis 2 and 3 in size and shape - Boox Go 7 for example, but there are others. They won’t have the battery life of good dedicated e-readers (Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook) but offer all sorts of flexibility. (And battery life isn’t as

Kobo v kindle

Which kobos or kindles are you looking at? Kobo clara bw isn't much expensive than the kindle basic and it's also waterproof and has warm light which the basic doesn't have, so you're getting extra features. Kobo Libra Colour is cheaper than the kindle colorsoft and it has buttons which are absent i

Amazon dropping some Kimdle Support

I have purchased 5 kobos for our family of 4, since 2015. Highly recommend. Started with an Aura in 2015 and preferred it to the Kindle I had owned prior to that. 2018 we expanded and added a Clara (not sure why...likely a feature I wanted like touch screen), and it is still going strong after my us

Kindle to Kobo?

I switched from Kindle to kobo and prefer kobo. It has a better UI, no ads anywhere, and overdrive integration. I downloaded all my kindle books before Amazon got rid of the download feature, so they were easy to de-drm with Calibre. I'd advise that, even if you stay with kindle, you download and ba

Recommendations for reader/writer.

1/ the perfect e-ink tablet does not exist and you should definitively not indulge in this search because you will spend a lot of money chasing an illusion 2/ e-ink is always a question of making compromises If you want Gcalendar sync you will need an Android based device. Are you ready for that ? I

Kobo FTW

They are for sure expensive but the amount of books your e-reader can hold is mind boggling. They are an investment which will last a long time and will give amazing returns. Go for Kobo Libra colour if you are thinking of getting one.

I’m getting into reading, I’m looking at e-readers but the Kindle 2012 discontinuation has scared me off kindles

I'm in the uk & have had the affected kindles since 2012 (paperwhite) & 2010 (kindle keyboard). I got a kobo libra colour in 2024 & it's great. You can borrow library books directly on it if your local library uses libby (or if you can get a library card in an area that does. Some allow you to join

I want to buy a Kobo Libra Colour but I am scared a new model will drop after April. I have the fear of missing out on new take especially the stylus writing experience. What should I do?

The original Kobo Libra was 2019, Libra 2 in 2021, and Libra Colour hit in 2024, a 5-year gap from gen1. I'd be surprised if they update it already in 2026. If anything I'd wait til it is on discount again. They just had a $30 off sale late March and $20 off early Feb, so I'd wait til end of April t

Looking for e-reader recommendations — $200–250 budget, no subscription plans

if your plan is to read epubs and pdfs rather than buy books right on the device, i couldn't recommend a kobo more. i have the kobo libra colour, it cost about 220 CAD when i purchased it, but the clara is also a great choice. kobo offers a very simple way to download your own epubs and pdfs and sti
