Just got my first Kobo - kind of regretting it after years with Kindle

I switched from Kindle Oasis to Kobo Libra Colour and will try to answer some of your questions. You can change the screen zones from the settings, I can't remember what the default was but I have the whole middle part for the menus not just the bottom of the screen, and you can drag from the top to

Kobo Clara Colour

E-readers generally have terrible quality control. A lot of units aren’t uniform, especially devices with Kaleido screens. I recall seeing a post in one of the e-reader subreddits of Kobo Libra Colours stacked together and none of the screens were the same shade, some being noticeably colder or warm

does anyone else prefer color e-ink for reading novels?

I do. Color highlighting is my favorite feature. I can't see myself going back. Would I like a brighter colored eink device that doesn't drain my battery really fast? I do. But so far, I like the Kobo Libra Color.

Worth the buy?

I love my kobo libra colour and it's actually more comfortable to my eyes than my kindle oasis. That said, if the colour screen bothered you on the kindle, then I don't think you'll find much difference with kobo, they're both using kaleido 3 screens. I suggest you wait till the next generation of c

I keep my kobo libra colour <40% brightness at all times because I find it super bright haha maybe I’m just too light sensitive but it’s more than bright and clear enough for me!

There’s a reason that Amazon is basically the default ereader for a lot of people. I switched to Kobo for two reasons. First, the form factor of

The time has come.

I have a black Kobo Clara BW and a black Kobo Libra Colour. I like that they match, black does not stand out when reading in a darker environment, I like the contrast against the screen and I like the color black more. You can sometimes go wrong with the color white, but you can never go wrong with

does anyone else prefer color e-ink for reading novels?

but the kobo libra colour was my first ereader. I think this is the key difference, and why so many people are on the Libra color now. Question - were you using the paperwhite with the frontlight on, like I expect you were with the KLC? To put in perspective of how older e-ink readers worked with th

New Kindle Feature Uses AI to Answer Questions About Books—And Authors Can't Opt Out

Kobos kobo libra colour is fantastic. Blows kindle out of the water and I won't be coming back to amazon again.
