First book on the 3ds
Don't buy a Kindle. Don't buy an old Kindle especially. Kindle 4s are about to be blocked from accessing the Kindle store entirely in a few days. You won't be able to register it either. You can get eInk readers with physical buttons from companies not named Amazon that are new, and still supported.

My 13 year old wants an e-reader, help.
Get her a Kobo, it's repairable so if it breaks you don't need to buy a whole new one. Screen savers can be customised easily. I have a Kobo Libra Colour and it's super straight forward, just has the forward and back physical buttons when reading and is touch screen otherwise.

Kobo v kindle
Which kobos or kindles are you looking at? Kobo clara bw isn't much expensive than the kindle basic and it's also waterproof and has warm light which the basic doesn't have, so you're getting extra features. Kobo Libra Colour is cheaper than the kindle colorsoft and it has buttons which are absent i

kobo clara bw or boox go 6 for ao3 fics?
Ao3 doesn't have an app. Any app you're using is unofficial, and may steal your login info or is illegally profiting off of AO3 through ads. Log out, delete it, and change your password asap. As for your question, it's dependent on how much you're willing to spend and if you have easy access to a co

To those of you who have 2 e-readers, why do you keep both and what do you use each one for?
I have an ancient kindle paperwhite from 2016 ("it's been eighty-four years...") that is beat to shit but still works perfectly. The battery life is still great and I have a huge library on it. I jailbroke it last year and haven since been using KoReader as the primary software and managing my libra

Amazon dropping some Kimdle Support
I have purchased 5 kobos for our family of 4, since 2015. Highly recommend. Started with an Aura in 2015 and preferred it to the Kindle I had owned prior to that. 2018 we expanded and added a Clara (not sure why...likely a feature I wanted like touch screen), and it is still going strong after my us

Kindle to Kobo?
I switched from Kindle to kobo and prefer kobo. It has a better UI, no ads anywhere, and overdrive integration. I downloaded all my kindle books before Amazon got rid of the download feature, so they were easy to de-drm with Calibre. I'd advise that, even if you stay with kindle, you download and ba

Kobo FTW
They are for sure expensive but the amount of books your e-reader can hold is mind boggling. They are an investment which will last a long time and will give amazing returns. Go for Kobo Libra colour if you are thinking of getting one.

Ereader recommendations!
I made the switch from the Kindle paperwhite to the Kobo Libra Colour and it's been fantastic. I didn't realize until I switched how many ads are shoved on the US kindle home screens vs the Kobo's. On the Kobo, I feel like I'm looking at an electronic bookshelf, with encouragement to use the Libby a

Kobo v kindle
Have both. Kobo libra color dominates my time. Great proportions, great UI and the fact that I have a writing device at hand also is a bonus. Kindles are also good, don’t get me wrong, but I like to be part of a more niche e-reader community. There are heaps of YouTube videos of people flipping over
