I'm pulling the triger tonight, which do you recommend?

Kobo clara bw. It might be more expensive than the kindle basic but it's waterproof and has warm light and the kindle basic doesn't have those. You might also wait a couple of days and see if it will get any discounts.

Why are B/W button devices dying out?

People are really sleeping on the Nook. I don’t use one personally, but I rooted a teal Nook Glowlight 4 (late 2025 model) for my husband. I installed KOReader on it for epubs and Libby for library books. The BW screen is perfectly crisp and the device is super fast. Crisper and faster than my Kobo

I have a confession…..

I’ve been struggling with the Colorsoft. I find I have to adjust the warmth and brightness with a frequency that’s a nuisance. The battery also drains fast. I read for the whole day after Christmas (8ish hours) and it went from fully charged to dying. In comparison to the Paperwhite, which took like

To those who haven't bought a light for their Xteink device

If you are serious enough in reading, i’d suggest investing in a kobo clara B&W for night reading and the x4 during the day anywhere. Nothing beats a frontlight of ereaders as it is not distracting even if someone sleeps with you in bed

Color ereader, yes I know it wont be perfect, I still want to know what the best one is.

I have a Kindle colorsoft, kobo clara color and, a kobo libra color. The kobo libra is my favorite for comics. It has dropbox and Google Drive integration and it supports cbz files natively. That means that I don't have to fool around with trying convert my comics or copy them from my computer if I'

Should I get Kobo or Kindle?

It depends on what you read and how tbh. I have both and use them equally as much. I have a Kobo Clara Colour and a Kindle PWS. Kobo Pros: Libby/overdrive (what I use this device mostly for) ease of adjusting screen light stats on the device color screen for when I need it the size is pristine for f

Leaving Kindle, advice for new e-reader

Why ask ChatGPT about it? It can’t tell you anything your own research won’t conclude. AI complaint aside, I personally have a Kobo Libra Colour and I love it. I picked it because it has buttons, a good amount of storage, and a good size screen. I use it for manga and ebooks. It’s easy to sideload c

Which would you choose and why - Kobo Clara colour, kobo Clara bw or kindle (cheapest) but with no ads?

Between those three, and without consideration for things such as “where will the books come from”, I’d pick the Clara BW. It seems a bit more “premium” than the basic Kindle, has warm light (I don’t personally care too much about warm light but on almost every picture I’ve seen of the recent basic

Kobo or kindle

Where do you plan to buy your ebooks from? Do you already own ebooks, and if so, where are they from? This is an important questions because if you're getting your ebooks from Kobo then a Kobo is best (although it can use ebooks from places like Google Play as well although it is harder to use Kindl

Amazon to end support for older Kindles, prompting user outcry

I went from a Kindle Oasis and Paperwhite to a Kobo Libra Colour, and I love it. The color isn't anything amazing, but I really enjoy reading on it and it's big enough that I can read comics (though I do sometimes have to zoom in). i think the text on the Kobo Clara Colour would be too small for com
