Upgrade fronts from Q350 to Q Concerto Metas?

The Q Concertos are probably the best bang for buck KEFs out there.

KEF Q Concerto Meta

Very cool man!! I just scored a pair myself, along with the Q 11, the center channel, and a Martin Logan dynamo 800. Powered by a Marantz Cinema 40. I ordered the stands for the concertos, but have not sent them up yet because I am waiting to get them. Second that! Here's my story- Went to Best buy

Passive bookshelf speaker recommendations?

Well, since your Sony only has bass and treble controls for sound shaping, you should look at speakers with a pretty consistent in-room response out of the box. What came to mind right away are the KEF Q Concerto Metas. While they retail for $1400, there are a pair of factory-recertified units that

Should I keep my B&W 607 S3 or switch to KEF (Q1, Q3, or Concerto)?

Being an employee could you take the floor models home, one pair at a time at store closing, and return prior to opening? That is a real good price for the Q Concerto Meta. On another level, what would the KEF R3 cost you?

LSX II → LS50 Wireless II upgrade? Better option around $1700 USD / $2400 CAD for music in a 150 sq ft room?

I hear you on the build quality, I’ve seen that firsthand, but I don’t think it actually means anything in practice. Again, look at EAC’s measurements of LS50WII and Q Concerto. The Q Concerto has lower distortion across the entire audio band. It has much better compression in a sine wave sweep. It

Should I keep my B&W 607 S3 or switch to KEF (Q1, Q3, or Concerto)?

KEF Q Concerto Meta for 600 is a steal, and their bass extension is deep enough that in a small room you can do without a sub. You can always add one later of course.

Best to listen to them if you can. I personally like KEF and own several pair, including Q Concerto Meta. You are getting a lot of bang for buck at $600 for those. My preference is to run a subwoofer no matter what pair of bookshelf speakers you choose. That of course requires a separate quiz but if

New speaker day

Agreed. I listened to multiple KEF speakers (Q Concerto Meta; R3 Meta; R5 Meta; LS50 Meta); a couple of Paragigms; Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G; B&W), and these strike the right balance for me.

Help to pick passive speakers

600 series Bowers & Wilkins speakers have elevated treble. (At least S2, but probably S3 too.) So, you are likely to find them tiring after a bit. (Entry level speakers often have exaggerated treble to wow first time buyers in store room demos.) You would do well to listen to some (different) option
