Why Do Gaming Laptop Manufacturers Hate AMD GPUs?

Even then you wouldn't though. AMD says the Max+ 395 can sustain 120W and boost upto 140W. That's not really much less than most 5060s do paired with a Ryzen 7 or Ultra 7. I have an Omen Transcend 14 with a Meteor Lake Ultra 7 and a 4060. The total power budget for them is ~85W because the laptop is

[Hardware Canucks] Intel just put AMD on Notice.

Oh I HATE this so much. My Omen Transcend 14 does this. Eco mode will get you 10 hours on my laptop with the RTX 4060 disabled, but the only things it is useful for are video playback and typing. It feels horrendous to use. Gets ~50 points in CB 2024. Switch it over to Balanced and change nothing. S

Dell XPS 14 2026 with Intel Panther Lake delivers 55% longer battery life vs 2025 Dell 14 Premium

The only reason I don't have a 14" M4 Pro is that I got a stunning deal on my Omen Transcend 14. Same price as an M4 MacBook Air actually. But the trade-off of battery life was worth it to me for the OLED screen and being able to run Assetto Corsa and iRacing on it. The 14" Mx Pros are the absolute

Same. The issue gets worse because they also drop the refresh rate to 60Hz. My Omen Transcend 14 actually drops to 48. It’s infuriating. The reviewed battery life for my laptop was 9-10 hours. I get 5-6 with usable performance and 120Hz

I’m seriously considering a Legion 7i as my next laptop…but MacBooks have utterly spoiled me re: battery life

TLDR; I’m in the middle of a similar situation and it’s a tough choice giving up MacOS, great Mac build quality, and superior battery life, in return for better gaming performance, Windows, and worse battery life. It is a difficult decision. Good luck OP. I’m in the same boat, I just want one device

I have a new OMEN Transcend 14 and CPU🔥behavior question

Its probably a thermal paste issue. I repasted mine, mostly out of fear it was using that HP liquid metal paste because I had to stick mine vertically into a backpack for extended periods. Turns out, HP didn't use the liquid metal paste anyways but regardless, I repasted it with Thermal Grizzly Phas

I have finally found the ultimate portable gaming experience (the most no one asked review ever)

I was drawn to this post on Christmas morning. Thanks for sharing your experience! A YouTuber who really loves the Zephyrus G14 is always saying "if you game on battery, get a handheld," but you have pointed out the downsides of that advice too. My first ever gaming laptop is the 2024 HP Omen Transc

HP Omen with Core Ultra 9

This laptop is way overkill for what you want to play on it. Those games don't require much. As you know, that kind of power hungry hardware drains the battery much faster. You can get a much cheaper laptop with better battery life that will still play those games. I have an OMEN Transcend 14" OLED

Laptop recommendations

I went with HP Omen Transcend 14" on Ultra Core 9 285H 64Gb RAM. It is just 1.6 kg, charges from 140W type-c and it can switch from RTX5070 dGPU to Intel iGPU to prolong battery life. Works just perfect for me. Metal casing and OLED are nice bonuses plus upgraded its stock Kyocera 2Tb with Samsung 9

Zephyrus G14 + RTX 5070 Ti: Anyone Tested Performance on 100W USB-C Charging?

If you keep the Nvidia gpu enabled, you will have both have significantly lower performance and also quite bad battery drain. The only way to go if you want to do usb-c gaming is to disable the Nvidia gpu and run the cpu on maximum power. The HX370 and 890M igpu provide a pretty decent experience fo
