Resin printing "arms race" over?
Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Most reliable printer
TL;DR: It’s not the brand, they all suck, although Elegoo has remained popular for a reason. I’m up to having owned 7 resin printers. 4 of those are Elegoo, and I’ve owned a Phrozen and currently own an Anycubic (along with 2 Saturns). I’m quite critical of the resin printer market, but Elegoo has a

We are looking to get a couple of resin printers for our engineering department.
FDM printing experience really doesn’t translate to resin, you might as well accept you are starting over. My understanding is Formlabs is the only real option as a commercial grade resin printing system. Everything below that is ‘consumer’ grade and comes with a whole host of problems, challenges,

Transparent resins?
Hahaha dimensional accuracy with resin printing isn’t anything like filament. Especially when you factor resin shrinkage, orientation and supports. And that’s not even including the BS that auto-leveling printers introduce. I highly suggest (should be mandatory) to read Jan Mrazek’s blog for more in

Which resin printer should be purchased between 7-10 thousand dollars?
Pretty much nothing in the consumer space will work except maybe the Heygears Reflex RS, they are basically the closest thing we have to a ‘prosumer’ printer. Phrozen, Elegoo, Anycubic, nor Uniformation will not hold the tight accuracy and tolerances you may require for engineering work.

ELEGOO Jupiter 2
I was really hyped for this machine a year ago but no thanks. Too many short cuts and limitations make this a no for me. Unfortunately I’ve realized elegoo is a budget company that makes budget products. I’ll wait for an updated Heygears reflex rs

Anycubic M7 or Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra?
Anycubics are a larger gamble in terms of QC than Elegoo. A lot of M7s come with concave plates. On top of that, Anycubics can't use per layer wait times, so they have even more trouble with adhesion than other auto-leveling printers, especially with low cure depth resins (light colored/high detail)

What printers are everyone using?
Like most things I spend a few months going back and forth before making a decision. I looked at them after seeing Fauxhammers videos on YouTube. That was back when they released the original Reflex. What made me not buy it was the cost and given that I didn’t do much or enjoy resin printing with th

FDM user looking to buy a resin printer for the first time use
Heygears Reflex RS is less than the P1 on sale right now. That’s a far better printer than any Anycubic. If the Saturn 3 (non-Ultra) is available in your market, that’s the best bang for your buck available, and it has a higher Z height than any newer printer. The Anycubic Wash & Cure 3.0 Plus is go

Mid-Sized Resin Printer Recommendation
Reflex RS turbo 100%. It far and away outperforms the others. And you can use non-Heygears resin in it with fantastic results. You won’t regret it I own two Saturn 4 ultra 16k’s and they’re also great machines. But it’s no contest the heygears gives noticeably better results. It’s a better overall b
