Resin printing "arms race" over?

Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Resin printer ~200€

I see that a Elegoo Mars 5 is 160€, and Saturn 4 is 280€. The Mars is basically a smaller version (ie smaller build plate). Both are pretty good deals. But please note that you need to get a lot of equipment besides the printer, both for safety and post processing. You are not getting away with ~200

I have my own (mini) Rocky! 🥰

Thank you! I currently have an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra printer, which I recently upgraded to from a much smaller Elegoo Mars (first generation). It's been pretty much foolproof since I bought it, once I'd manually levelled it. I also have the Elegoo Mercury Plus v3 wash and cure station, which has hug

Replacing FEP with ACF

ACF has it's downsides, namely causing fine vertical lines on smooth surfaces. There was such a backlash against it, Elegoo stopped using ACF on new printers. No Mars 5 or Saturn 4 model uses ACF. nFEP/PFA however is a straight upgrade from FEP, and is cheaper than ACF. And yes, it uses the same ten

Best resin printer for Warhammer40k style minis?

I like my Elegoo Saturn 4. I'm not going to say it's best, but I will recommend it. But I'll also say, for me personally, chasing GW sculpts proved to be largely a waste of time. It's a bit of a struggle to find, and I find a lot of the sculpts out there for GW knockoffs are.... fine. They work and

New to Resin - which saturn?

Generally speaking the Saturn 4 Ultra 16k is the best option for most people. I investigated and wrote the original post explaining the 3-bit grayscale deficiency and it is still present. I also bought a S4U 16k and subsequently worked out a dithering method with UVTools to restore a significant por

Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16k - Water Washable

I'll just assume it bots or something, but for whatever reason, this thread is just filled with wrong answers. Well, technically the Wait time before print suggestion is correct, but is still useless because it fails to provide any guidelines for settings or why it works. Rest / Wait time is why you

Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, over a year of troubleshooting and I still can't fix it.

The S4U springloaded plate means that wait times are even more mandatory than regular printers. The light turns on way before the resin has settled and the springs have found home. This means you get a layer thicker than supposed especially at 20um, your bottom layers are probably closer to 0.5 or e
