For those not interested in a wall of text. TL;DR:After years of unreliable performance with smart home devices—including disconnecting speaker groups, Nest cameras dropping, and general network instability—you replaced your Nighthawk + extender setup with Nest WiFi Pro, only for it to get even wors

It’s very unclear what your problem is. The most important question: If you’re hardwired to your Ethernet jack (where the internet in the house comes in), is the internet reliable? If no, investigate different providers. Sonic or MonkeyBrains are probably the best in SF, if they’re available to you.

It's strange that people have polar opposite experiences with Google's Wifi routers, something is going on My Nest Wifi has been solid for 5 years I had it, though it is a single unit, no mesh.

Are any of your 45 connected devices near one of your pods so that you might connect them by ethernet? I recommend sorting that out (and buying some cheap unmanaged switches if you need multiple devices to be fed by a single pod) and then re-testing your phone's download speed. If you can get everyt

Don't do a repeater or extender. You've already tried Google Wifi: if you like it alright as a system, maybe try adding a couple of the Nest Wifi (not Pro) router/points as the closet connections (they'll play nice with the pucks if you want to keep 1 or 2 around; Nest Wifi Pro will not). I use one

Maybe a hot take, but why not just buy another Google Nest WiFi system? Since you know it works, but your existing set just started to fail. If you buy the same system (new or like new condition) then it should work well for you.

I'm considering switching my Internet service from Comcast to Fios. Comcast Internet has always been crappy but after I connected a Google nest Wi-Fi mesh extender to it a few years ago, coverage was great. I was able to get Wi-Fi throughout the house with the additional pointers. But recently my Co

I haven't ever needed to use a travel router as a WiFi Client, but I know they are typically configurable that way. I see TP Link has a few to choose from. Just make sure you get a well known brand and that it supports "Client" mode. They often support a bunch of modes, including range extender (you

Just replaced my 2g Google WIFI Ntwk with 3g Google Nest wifi Pro. I went from 5 points to 4 points including the router. I moved to a bigger house and the old system was dropping offline and was not streaming well at the far end of the house away from the modem. I am on comcast and 800-900mg at the

Almost any mesh system is "beginner-friendly." Watch some YouTube reviews and see what feels good. If they're already in the Amazon smart device ecosystem then Eero might be the way to go? Or Google Wifi if they're Google Home folks. Think creatively about above/below placement. If an access point c
