The model linked above (that I also own) is the GL.iNet GL-MT3000 - Beryl AX Portable Travel Router, Pocket Wi-Fi 6. I've been full time travelling just shy of 2 yrs now and this is in my top 5 list of absolute essentials. The portal page for the GLI has dedicated little workflow to get you through

Hi, It’s not possible to connect to a WiFi that requires a web portal login. On top of that, those networks usually have device isolation enabled, which prevents devices from communicating with each other. You can try creating a mobile hotspot from your Windows computer for your trackers to connect

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I need two of them to cover my house, but GL I. Net are awesome. So far I have a travel router and a VPN server from them, but they are awesome. I used to have a Meraki network (with 2 APs, a switch and a security appliance) - but that was overkill. So I am defin

GL.iNet travel routers would provide you with the bridge back to wired Ethernet for you home lab and give you the option for a personal SSID. The new GL-BE3600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5G networking. You won’t get that speed out to the internet, but it can make moving files internally faster.

AP is the answer. For a 5th wheel I’d suggest a GL.iNet travel router. The slate AX or the Slate 7 are solid. You can set them up in access point mode or router mode. There’s some learning that’s needed but it’ll be worth your while.

This is essentially a comparison between GL.iNet travel routers and the Ubiquiti Travel Router (UTR), which has weaker hardware specifications and no native VLAN support. Many users prefer a travel router that can mirror their home network—matching SSIDs and VLANs—while maintaining a VPN connection

I started my self hosted journey mainly to play multiplayer games with my friends more than 15 years ago. Started hosting game servers on old laptops and then I got more and more into self hosting other things. Installed ESXI, Proxmox, FreeNAS/TrueNAS, Snapraid, Unraid, you name it. There is a certa

After purchasing a GL.iNet travel router recently, when my UniFi-LR-6 snuffs it (they’re known for overheating issues since buying), I’ll give their desktop boxes a try. Very impressed with the performance and OpenWRT usage. https://www.gl-inet.com/

This is a fantastic giveaway! As a self-hoster who travels a lot, the GL.iNet travel routers are especially appealing for maintaining a secure connection to the home lab. Here is my entry, choosing the travel router: What inspired you to start your selfhosting journey? The main inspiration was sec
