8 years old 8030a vs new 8010
I own both and can tell you that the improvement is substantial. 8030’s offer much better bass extension and even if you would run them with a subwoofer I would still recommend the 8030’s over 8010. For reference I use the 8010’s in my work-from-home setup, so mainly Teams calls and some low volume

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?
Genelec 100%, 1000% Genelec The 8010s are shockingly good for the cost and size, just keep in mind that woofers of that size simply cannot reproduce low end with the accuracy of a larger driver, those speakers only go down to 67hz which means you’re going to notice the lack of low end. Get a good pa

I'm Done (For Real)
I can never live with the genelecs 8030c I had in the past. It's a little too sharp and when watching random low quality YouTube videos, it becomes unbearable. Not sure if it's the tweeter or the upper bass.

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?
Genelec is a whole other League. Since both kinda need a subwoofer for a decent bottom end ( the 8010 will love the 7050, my 8030c does!) the choice is even simpler. Dont get me wrong, iLoud is a nice way of monitoring, it has some low even it has a very small footprint.

best studio monitors
Genelecs are awesome. A pair of 8030 with 7050 sub will run you about $3000

complete newbie
Genelec cant go wrong, happy 8030c user here ( bought last year, €550/pc ). In my opinion the 'a' is a good unit, newer models are a bit updated ( more power, auto off option i believe and some other settings ) but i really recommend to ad a subwoofer. I use the 7050c, the 5.1 subwoofer and i really

Genelec vs KEF
I had genelec 8030c in near field config and now currently use q150 as tv speakers. while most compare 8030c to ls50 but I don’t have that so i will say 8030c is miles ahead of q150 in terms of sound quality. the position of everything just sounds “exact” and “correct” with proper bass and good timb

Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?
Side note: I agree that the style/finish of genelecs looks amazing and at some point I will get the 8030 as 8010 (which I had) does lack bass and I think it will be a struggle to mix music on it. So I replaced them with Adam audio d3v for my desktop speakers which I also use for corporate video prod

Finally understand why speakers are better
Yeh, speakers are far superior in stage, imaging and instrument separation, it’s just physics. Keep it as a nice dream to save up for an endgame speaker one day. But for now, you can definitely get something for around £200 that will still have good stage and bass punch if set up correctly (a couple

Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?
Depending on your room and how loud you are able to play. I am guessing that’s why you are choosing 8010 or for travelling. The whole range is perfect for any kind of near field including as DJ monitors they are extremely robust and were made for location playback. They also sound great in lots of d
