I would agree with the other post, if you want to get into tris, garmin is your best bet. The cool thing is, while the top of the line models are expensive, a couple of generations older are still awesome. My recommendation would be for a Fenix 7. Pretty pathetic on garmin for that. I still have my f7 pro, but switched to awu recently. Been on Garmin connect for 10+ years, but i don’t care anymore. Feels good.

Fenix 7 has rubber rings, so pressing buttons underwater, water can find its way in. Garmin does seem pretty good about dealing with it under warranty, however, the 8 has induction buttons so there is no holes for water to get through.
