I sold my x1000vi for an x-e5, mostly because I wanted to change lenses, but I'm actually liking the x-e5 better in most ways. IMO it fixes the biggest issue with Fujifilm cameras if you engage with film sims/recipes.... it lets you save your own custom recipes separate from custom C profiles. This

Shooting only RAW and then spending hours culling and editing photos was what “photography” was to me for the last 8 years, since I first got into photography. I eventually fell out of doing photography because I got so tired of photo editing, and that’s how I recently stumbled upon Fujifilm’s camer

I’m a very casual photographer with more budget than skill. I’ve dabbled with MFT, Sony A7Rii, fancy point and shoots (RX1Rii, Ricoh GRii, X100F and IV) and now the X-E5. I’d agree that I think dollar for dollar the Sony offerings provide more raw performance. With a little practice and various exer

This is incorrect. The XT-50 does not have three spaces on the film sim dial to save full recipes. You can only save other basic film simulations to the FS1-FS3 slots and all film recipe settings on XT-50 have to be accessed by setting the film sim dial to C and using the Q menu. OP, The XT-30iii an

OP, The XT-30iii and X-E5 are currently the only models where Fujifilm lets you save entire recipe settings to the actual film sim dial in the FS1-FS3 slots. It's just an asshole move to not bring this to other models. It's all software.

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m asking precisely because I have no experience with Fujifilm and wanted to hear different perspectives. My initial thought was the X-E5, partly because the 23mm kit lens really intrigued me based on the specs (though, of course, actual use is a very subjective ma

If you have an inkling that you like the X half good chance you'd probably really like it. I got it on sale, and even then, knowing full well I am overpaying for the technical aspects. You're in part paying for the Fujifilm brand and the film sims, but you're also committing to the formalistic exper

It’s a combination of a lot of things, the EVF is worse, no OVF, buttons/controls all feel cheap, body feels cheap, has a film sim dial which I had on my x-t50 and didn’t like. And not having a 23mm f2 is a huge loss. If you want a zoom lens then x-t5 is a better choice. IMO x-e5 as a package doesn’

I can weigh in here, I recently went to Japan and China and bought a few models ( largely to buy cheaper and trade in order to finance my most recent purchase ). X-E5: great form factor, weight and size not as long battery life as the XT5 and X-T50 meaning i had to carry 4 batteries with me, which i
