Congratulations. I love taking my X-E5 out for photo walks. My current favourite lens pairings are the Voigtlander 27mm f/2 pancake, Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2, and the Fujifilm 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8.

I have a Fujifilm x-e5 and the 27mm pancake (among other lenses). I also have a GR3. I end up taking the GR3 most of the time for 2 reasons: the Fujifilm 27mm drives me nuts with his noisy motors. The gr3 is the only really pocketable camera with this size sensor. If I take the Fujifilm, I only do s

Crap and avoid. I am a pancake collector have pretty much every pancake since film era. The pancake I like is Fujifilm 23 and 27. I wouldn’t even consider Fujifilm 18/2. Oh! I also love voigtlander 18 and 27. I found out if I let go a little. Viltrox is “bigger yet ultra light” on that 15/1.7 and ev

Get the X-e5, pair with viltrox 15mm f1.7. With crop mode out of 40mp resolution. You will get both 24mm and 35mm (40mp, 26mp respectfully). It double as a x100v for me already. Then all you need is another Fujifilm 35mm f2, so you get 50mm and 75mm. Two prime lenses works as 4 common focal lengths

APSC still has benefits being cropped over full frame. As usual, it all depends on preference and need. Fujifilm isn't necessarily the best example for this, but many wildlife photographers prefer APSC or m43 cameras for the crop factor, since you need less glass to cover the same FOV. It's less dra

Have you considered the x-e5 with the pancake lense? I don't really think the AF on the Fujifilm is that bad for stills. But it's definitely not as good as sony for sure.

I have the 27 f/2.8 as pretty much permanent lens on my X-E5. I have other Fujifilm bodies and lenses but I love the combination of the small 5 and 27mm. It’s my main travel camera

One reason would be availability. You can order online and get it right away, versus endless waitlists or paying above the retail price. Another is that if you only buy the other pancake lenses available from Fujifilm - the 18mm f/2 and 27mm f/2.8, you can get the equivalent to the WCL and TCL adapt

I chose the silver version for that reason, even though most of my cameras are black. Not that I mind wear on cameras especially when it looks natural like it’s been used and not kept in a display case. The 23mm is a new design vs the 27mm. That should be enough, IMO. But in my case I don’t have ano

I still think you are exaggerating. The X-T5 is well over a cm taller than the X100VI and almost a cm deeper “pre-lens”, and what’s even the point in comparing pre-lens anyway? The X-E5 with the pancake lens you mention is about the same size as the X100VI and then it really depends what you want to
