Eero

Yes I had this scenario I had Eero Pro 6, they only have 1gb Ethernet ports, so they are more suited to work with a 1gbps line. If you get Eero Pro 6e, it has a 2.5gb port and a 1 gb port, I ran my network like this for a while, it meant 1gb Ethernet and I got around 1.4 gbps Wi-Fi. I've since repla

TZ270W home network, wifi extender?

You can do an access point but you may as well go for something like a UniFi access point. It's one of the best WiFi products out there and the Web interface is easy to manage. When I have these problems I just create a separate 2.4 GHz network for these devices - although I must admit newer devices

Approved list of 3rd party routers

Eero 6E Pro. You can get a brand new one for £99 on eBay. Get more than one if you want to extend the range and use the mesh facility.

SaskTel vs Rogers (Shaw) internet speeds

All new Infinet SaskTel contracts come with 2 Eero Pro 6e. That is what the "whole home wifi" is. Very capable routers in my experience. Haven't felt the need to buy my own for once.

Adding eeros to router

You need an Eero hub. The Eero cannot mesh with the YouFibre Hub. You could plug the Eero Hub into the ONT and everything should just work, but the Eero Hub you have will be limited to 1gbps with it's Ethernet port. You could use an Eero Pro 6e which has a single 2.5 gb Ethernet port, this would giv

Setup advice

The eero 6e Pro is more than adequate and as you have invested heavily in these device (I assume all yours are 6e Pros?), I would stick with them. Very few devices use WiFi 7 and even those that do, it is debatable how much of a real world advantage it is over WiFi 6. I have a very tech heavy househ

Thoughts on TV + Internet?

I bought my own eeros. I bought a 3-pack of the 6E Pros. One on main floor, one upstairs where bedrooms are and one in the basement. I took the eero 6 given to me and use it in the backyard in my poolhouse. My wifi is strong everywhere, no dead spots or dropped wifi. I like the eeros. They are like

Done with TP-Link

I switched from TP cuz every time Internet went out, it would take hours of not a day to reconnect the tp mesh system back online. Switched to eero pro 6e. Never had a problem again been going a year and various outages and they always reconnect without issue. My devices easily jump from one router

Daily FI discussion thread - Tuesday, April 28, 2026

I had Eero 6E for years (4 of them), and upgraded early this year to a Unifi Dream 7, with 4 access points for the rest of the home (4000 sqft). Our home is basically a ranch (with a large yard), so the extra APs help get coverage everywhere. While Eero was a massive upgrade from my prior system (an

Who's the best full fibre up to 1Gb for home use

I have 1Gb service from Plusnet, started at £29.99 … replaced the router with a couple of Eero Pro 6E (second hand from CEX about £70 each)… same basic service as BT/EE but without the bill shocks and with great customer service; I recommend. The Eeros get me 900Mb plus even 2 floors away.
