Very likely that is the case, my ZBook's mounting isn't the most uniform so PTM couldn't perform as well. I've seen significantly better results with a PTM repaste on a Dell G15 with the same i7-11850H, thicker heatsink and better contact pressure and uniformity did allow the PTM to sustain over 100

My thought too. I have a G15 5525 with Ryzen 5 6600H and Dell says it can only take 32gb DDR5 and I put in 64gb and it works fine. Does it take forever to boot because of memory timings or whatever, yes, but the machine is stable and registers all 64gb and uses it all when needed.

For your hardware (Dell G15 5520 / i7-12700H / RTX 3050 Ti 4GB), the distro choice matters less than (1) NVIDIA driver handling and (2) laptop hybrid graphics (Optimus) behaving nicely. Best picks (in your list) Pop!_OS (NVIDIA ISO) — easiest / most “it just works” If you want minimum hassle on an N

Yeah the Omen 16 display is mid, that's a legit complaint. Coming from a Dell G15 basically anything modern will feel like a massive upgrade tho. Depends on your budget but if you're in the $1,000-$1,500 range the MSI Katana or Vector are both solid picks with better displays and MSI's cooling is co

Check out the DELL G15 and the HP VICTUS. Both are pretty solid, and I'm suggesting it because the people I know have these and laptops and they're pretty sick.

If the price is right then go for it, keep in mind that this is last gen hardware. Also, Dell no longer makes the G series of laptops, this line was replaced by an entry level Alienware lineup. As for the laptop itself, it should serve you well for the next few years. I have the G15 5520 with 12th G

Maybe you should increase your budget to around 60 to 80k, check Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 and dell g15 or 17 (didn't remember the exact model. Idealap gamming 3 has multiple options available and dell g series have a standard 70k model with latest gen Intel processor
