I have a Coway airmega and it’s a beast. Highly recommend. It wasn’t cheap but I got a good deal on it Black Friday a few years ago.

Dyson is expensive and doesn’t perform better on any test that I’ve seen. Coway Airmega is cheaper and continually wins accolades. It has a green (I think) pre-filter to handle odors.

I have not owned these two specifically, but have you contacted Coway to complain about the filter? Sometimes the way they are stored in the warehouse affects the smell and getting a new filter can solve the issue. I have a coway 250 and a ProX I'm extremely happy with both. They have been solid for me. Very well made and I like how simple they are.

Same here, I bought the Coway Airmega 150 and have no complaints at all.

Thanks for the additional perspective. I though it might be a particular problem with the Coways, because I didn't notice a smell from the Winix 5510, and the smell from from the BlueAir Signature was faint; but I had noticeable issues with both models of Coways I had tried.
