Yeah, your boyfriend is totally wrong. KNKA appears to be a junk rebadged brand. These are typically very cheap with poor build quality, short-lived replacement filter availability, and lousy customer service. The 2,325 sq. ft. coverage rating is highly misleading. This is likely at 1 Air Change per

Luckily 500sq ft isn’t too big, so you can probably get something like the Levoit 300 for the main room and a smaller one for the bathroom. My advice is don’t get something too small for your main room, or it won’t work. And if you want serious air cleaning, then something large and rated for 2x or

No, the Xiaomi is very undersized. Go for something like the Winix T800, Philips PureProtect 3200 Series (AC3220/10), or the Coway Airmega 300.

Since you listed measurements in feet, I'll be using the AHAM 2/3 rule for minimum Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs). This assumes an 8 ft. high ceiling. See the AutoModerator comment as well. A 12' x 25' room needs minimum CADRs of 200 CFM. A 12' x 12' room needs minimum CADRs of 96 CFM. These CADRs

u/District98 is right - the Levoit Vital 100S-P is not powerful enough. Another note, as listed in our FAQs wiki page and in the subreddit's sticky post on dust: air purifiers aren't very good at reducing visible dust (and by extension pet hair). It's very large and heavy compared to PM2.5 and PM0.1

I've had a Coway Airmega 300 Smart since March of 2024 - it sits in the hall between my master bed & full bath. I keep it on the smart setting so it only kicks on when it detects poor air quality. Factors: sqft of liveable space is >1000 and my summers are very humid. If I had more floor space, I wo

Hello OP. Sorry for the late reply; was visiting family a while ago and then got a lousy cold. Have you chosen anything yet? Unfortunately it's quite difficult to capture particulates and high concentrations of gases/vapors/odors effectively in one unit. You need many pounds of sorbent media (e.g.,

I don't know what "quiet" means... is there a preferred decibels (db or dBA) range? Don't know what constitutes a "larger" bedroom either. Purifiers are sized by a room's length x width x height. Generally for metric measurements, particulate Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs) should be 4-6 times a ro

I don't think that's true, u/Caprichoso1. OP, I would actually look at the ratings' breakdown. Here's an overview video of their ratings icons. So I logged into Consumer Reports with a subscription. The current testing score differs from the PDF I linked. The PDF scores the Airmega 300 at 63 and categorizes it for use in 350 - 650 sq. ft. rooms. I'll update my previous comment. However, the Coway Airmega 300 does not have a "Poor" rating ov
