Thank you all! So my setup... Camera: Canon EOS R7 Lenses: 85mm/1.8 with a 18-55mm reversed on the front of that. I don't have a focusing rail or a macro lense, so I am working with tools I've got on hand for these. Some day I might have the funds for an actual macro lense. Until then, I'm just expl

As 2024 comes to an end, I wanted to share a few of my favourite photos from the year. All photos were taken in Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada). More info in comments
I spent 55 days in Algonquin Park during the 2024 season, split between the backcountry and the frontcountry. It was by far, without a doubt, the best season I’ve ever had in the park. I had so many incredible experiences, I made countless lifelong memories, and I had some of the most insane wildlif

Rebellious but cute Hankō (MDD custom)
Just Hankō being cute!!! Despite being rebellious!
Hankō is a MDD on the Volks MDD DD-F3 2.0 body, her head faceup was done by Chisaidoll and it's the Volks DDH-29 head! Wig is a Volks Hatsune Miku wig from 2014 that had the twintails adjusted due to the MDD smaller size!

Noise on M43 still a thing?
It depends on the camera and what you’re comparing it to. For me personally noise hasn’t been an issue since the day both companies finally retired the classic 12MP Panasonic LiveMOS sensor. All 16MP and 20MP sensors have been fine, and the latest 25MP sensor in the G9ii is actually better than Cano

Is the Nikon Z5ii or the canon EOS R8 better for nature photography?
Hi, longtime wildlife photographer here. I have the R8 which I use for wildlife video work. It has great low light capability and top of the line autofocus.. I do not know the Nikon line up but as a starter kit, Canon R8 with the RF100-400mm lens will be a good one. If you have the means, the R7 wou

🔥A young fox sheltering from the rain in London [OC]
Short answer: Pick a brand Canon, Nikon, Sony, and stick with it. Start with a cheap(ish) body and the nicest lens you can afford. Depends largely if you want to also do videography or just photography. I have an R10. I love how lightweight it is and how inexpensive it was, but I do occasionally wis

Einstieg in neues Hobby?
Aller

Does every birder eventually say "I need a better camera!"?
I’m using the Sigma 150-600 f5-6.3 contemporary. I think this is the same lens as yours. It works very, very well with my R5mkII. The reason for this is the faster sensor readout speed on the newer Canon R-series cameras. The only cams I can confirm this lens works well on are: R5mkII R6mkIII The ma
