What’s a photography tip that wasted your time for years?

You're absolutely right - but as someone who shot wildlife on an old DSLR and a tiny EF-S telephoto lens for 3 years - good glass and modern AF are things I wish I'd invested in years ago. I initially refused to spend too much on equipment for a hobby I was likely to give up on soon (thanks ADHD!),

Today's wildlife

A Canon R7 paired with a Sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens. It's a good combo for wildlife.

Indefinite travel: Tech/camera gear? Roast my packing list

The camera struggle is very real! As a former Fuji system owner (have had access to or owned the XT30ii and XT5), the XT-1 and 50-200mm (not sure which one you have, I see a 55-230 and 55-200 in their current lineup) falls short for wildlife (slow autofocus and not bright lens) and isn't really a gr

Do you have any tips/tricks for focus?

I have a Canon EOS R7 18-150mm lens kit.

I for the life of me can’t figure out the auto focus. I switched my focus from the shoot button to an AF button on the front, which is super easy to use. It also has helped tremendously, but I still have focus issues.

On another note, I’m having trouble

Is the Nikon Z5ii or the canon EOS R8 better for nature photography?

Hi, longtime wildlife photographer here. I have the R8 which I use for wildlife video work. It has great low light capability and top of the line autofocus.. I do not know the Nikon line up but as a starter kit, Canon R8 with the RF100-400mm lens will be a good one. If you have the means, the R7 wou

My cat Beyonce said: “no more photos please”

Pictures taken with canon eos r7 and 7 artisans 7.5. They are a bit out of focus because the lense is manual and the cat didn’t stop moving

Best Camera Brand for beginner nature photographer?

Well, objectively there is not best brand. They are all used by professionals. They all have prow and cons. Canon is nice for wildlife as they have a lot of telephoto lens options, and the r7 is a brilliant wildlife camera (aosc, 33mp, 15fps). I went Sony because of the lens choices, they have way m

Atomos Shinobi 2 now has touch to focus support 😁

Finally arrived 😁. Tested on two FX3s and they work like a champ. Wish the focus box indicator persists like the on camera screen but it works well as/is.
