Canon M6 Mark II - worth it?

Little damage?! Someone dropped it on tripod. IT'S CRACKED!!!! Sealing gone, possible structural damage. Stay away. EDIT: Oh it's M6 mark II, not R6 mark II. Even more, that's overpriced.

I can’t get with Sony

No, you don't miss anything. But different people love different things. Sony has been the champion of the technology geeks. They were earlier in the mirrorless game and tend to have more gadgets. Canon has traditionally better ergonomics from the rounded bodies to the structure of the menus. Don't ...

R5 Mark ii colors...

Colors seem totally fine to me on calibrated equipment. Could be one of several things on your end. Uncalibrated display. This seems kind of likely being it looks perfectly fine to me, but maybe your other photos looks different? Share some more examples if you can. Default camera profile in LR. I f...

How to get the most out of an old lens?

I use Canon EF glass on Sony all the time. AF works better than on the older DLSRs. With the RF cameras though, AF works a LOT better than the older DLSRs. Why not rent an R6II for a week and see?

Who bought the wrong camera?

Watched too many shilltubers and bought a Z6iii instead of an R6ii after deciding to move from a 5DIV. Whoops. Now I’m deep into Z mount. The lenses are great, but Nikon service sucks and their bodies ain’t built like they used to be. And they are pretty portly and heavy. Turns out I don’t need 6k 6...

Who bought the wrong camera?

I bought the wrong camera many times. First I bought the 2000D without much research and I loved that camera. Canon feels sturdy and reliable to work with. Then because I researched more, I eventually swapped thst one out for the Sony A6100 because the ‘lenses were cheaper and more options’. Before ...

Best bang for your buck in terms of sensor quality

I think the R8 is a huge winner on sensor-for-cost, with the pro-quality R6ii sensor and AF suite at enthusiast cost. I got my R8 from Canon US refurbished sale for $899, it’s right on the edge of being criminally good per dollar.

The r100 isn’t that bad

i can’t say i disagree with the statement as “that bad” isn’t a phrase with a solid definition, but the r100 is absurdly crippled when compared to other canon cameras. i would argue that an r50 is easily worth the extra money. from MPB, the difference is less than $200 for “like new” condition for b...

New R6II or used R5

Given your description, I'd recommend the R5. For context: The R5 was my first mirrorless camera coming from the 5D Mark III. It was a revalation. I had planned on keeping the 5DIII, but after tasting mirrorless I sold it (+ 24-105 F4 kit lens) for the price of a used R, which I bought. I later baug...
