anyone else feel like Bay Area rent is just a subscription fee for nice weather at this point

I got a Breville Barista Express over a year ago and it has paid for itself twice over; 3-4x over if I was getting a $7 coffee daily. Plus, the cortados I make for myself, and the lattes I make for my wife, are better than most of the ones we’re getting out and about. Bonus was that I got it on sale

I'm in need of a new coffee machine!

I HIGHLY rate the Breville Bambino. It has higher pressure steam than my parents Barista express, produces great coffee once dialed in and takes up significantly less room. You will wanna get a seperate portafilter and tamper because the ones the come with are trash. It’s also pretty light so takes

Barista Express/ Impress or La Specialista Opera? [500-620 USD]

I have no idea about wattage converting or warranty claims in south east Asia but out of these two machines the Breville is higher quality and will make better coffee. That said, as someone with a Breville Barista Express, if I were purchasing an entry level espresso machine again I would get a Brev

Do that many people really have almost 7k to spend on a machine?

“Just as good” depends on your uses. I used to have a Breville Barista Express, which makes pretty damn good coffee for around $600. But I host a lot of gatherings where a bunch of people want coffee drinks, and the Barista Express is not great for pulling multiple shots, and it also take a lot long

Two month review with the Oracle Jet

I’ve had a Barista Express, Barista Pro and now have used an Oracle Jet since March 1, 2026. This is definitely my favorite iteration of the Brevilles and I would absolutely buy it again. The good: It’s mostly automatic. You already know that. But there is a tremendous convenience in teeing it up to

Best at home coffee machine recommendations

Second this advice, I've moved from the Breville barista express to this set up (Bambino Plus and Baratza ESP) and I've been very happy. If you want to make milky drinks then the Bambino Plus delivers great milk consistently.

Just joined the club.

I got a Move middle of last fall after lots of research following a dead Breville Barista Express. We got 10 years out of the BBE, and at first I was like "I don't want to spend too much money - I should just get the same thing." Well of course I looked around and fell in love with the idea of a nic

first shot from my ES1

oh it's light years ahead of the bbe for steaming! way faster, the steam itself is quite dry and makes a vortex with ease. I had replaced the bbe with the delonghi specifically because I found the breville steam wand lacking and this is a huge upgrade again there is a noticeable difference in flavor

Espresso Machines

I have a Breville Barista Express, it’s fantastic. It has a built in grinder you can dial in, a steam wand, hot water (I use a kettle tbh the water isn’t hot enough) also the 1971 roast makes excellent espresso!

New grinder experience - MAD

Probably not as much as the grinder. I’d say the biggest difference is Mara pulls more consistent shots with a slightly better flavour, has a lot more powerful steam wand which you can use while pulling a shot. It steams milk in no time (took a bit of time to get used to that after BBE). I think if
