are coffee pods dead/fad over?
When I can spend a comparable amount of money on a Breville Barista Express which will work with whatever beans I choose and produce a better result, why would I get a coffee pod machine and lock myself into buying expensive pods?

anyone else feel like Bay Area rent is just a subscription fee for nice weather at this point
I got a Breville Barista Express over a year ago and it has paid for itself twice over; 3-4x over if I was getting a $7 coffee daily. Plus, the cortados I make for myself, and the lattes I make for my wife, are better than most of the ones we’re getting out and about. Bonus was that I got it on sale

Best espresso machines to buy in 2026? [$500]
Breville barista express often goes on sale for $500. It’s an all-in-1 that still makes great espresso. Or get the bambino and a good grinder

Beginner to the espresso world! Started with the Ninja Luxe Cafe from Costco and I’m amazed by the quality improvement in coffee ! Bye bye Starbucks !
Welcome! This seems like a great starting point (I started with a Breville Barista Express Impress), similar to me when I started. If you were a daily Starbucks person like me, you’ll see the new machine pay for itself in no time. Periodically I’ll do a new cost assessment, and it’s still 1/5 the pr

Need Help Choosing Coffee Machine☕️☕️
Love the different views this topic will generate :) Barista Express (and most of the all-in-one Breville's) are good in the longish term. Parts fail and these machines have limited repairability. I have a refurb, and this is my second personal Breville machine, and 4th of their's I've bought/used o

Canadian Coffee Roaster megathread?!
Big vote for Ottawa's Birch Bark Coffee, available by shipping or in some retailers -though I find their ahhhhmazing Indigenous espresso roast can be unpredictably hard to find. It's the perfect bean for our breville barista express - ideal shot every time. Also shout out to my local roaster Propell

Need a espresso machine recommendation for a no hassle setup. Budget:[$5000]
Ppl act like just because he said dark roast, you can run any type of Walmart machine and it'll come out fine. He already mentioned he didn't like the inconsistency with his Breville Barista Express. The Bambino is a great machine, but it has its limits and you will get better consistency with other
