Hardware advice?

User-facing vs. background was the boundary I adopted for the two servers. Yes, the 'hub' is a server. User-Facing (Hub): Services and applications that we regularly interact with - from wiki to LLM services to various databases to calendar and contacts. The daily stuff. Background (Support): Servic

What is the ULTIMATE HIGH END Shader to use for Retro 2D Games?

Personally I really enjoy CRT Royale. Games at 1x resolution with that shader look fairly similar to my Sharp CRT's picture. Also, it's not horribly taxing on your GPU/CPU. Using a Beelink Ser5 Pro mini pc, I rarely hit above 60% usage.

Hello, i'm looking to buy my first Mini PC ever and i need some help

It's easier to be confused πŸ˜• Notably when it comes to the SER5 Pro, as there are different versions. Some versions, the Lucienne Zen 2 5700U, make poor investments. PSU can be a bit more confusing 😞 The majority of mPCs are supplied with a PSU "brick" rated @ 100-240VAC 50/60Hz which have a female I

Beelink SER5 6800h vs Minisforum um870 8745H

The point is what you want / aim. Current Beelink SER5 MAX with 6800H is really a new platform / board design disguise under an old SER5 MAX name, mostly aimed for better price & cost. There's no UM870, I take it as Minisforum UM870 Slim is a slightly cut down version of their flagship UM8x0 Pro. Ov

best hardware to run up to n64

I really like my Beelink SER5 Pro... There might be cheaper options, but it's a compact and sleek design, plus it runs a Ryzen mobile APU so it's almost silent and has a very low power draw.

CPU for playing 4k60 10bit 422?

Update: I have bought more systems and here are my findings. Beelink Ser5 Max 6800u: it almost made it. The FPS is at 60 for half of the time but slightly dips to 58, 59 for the other half. Watchable but not silky smooth. When the monitor is plugged in through DP or USB-C, CPU is running at ~3GHz wi

GMKtec M6 Ultra Review: 7640HS w/ 760M

Indeed. It's akin to finding a SER5 Pro 5500U 32GB/1TB on Amazon or AliExpress, with consumers using minimum research to think "It's Beelink, and 32GB of RAM with a 1TB drive. That's gotta be a great deal!" ... without researching a budget 6-core Zen 2 Lucienne 5500U utilizing older HyperTransport m

I need advice on a Minecraft server/small homelab I wanna build

I run a Bedrock server for my daughter and her friends on a Beelink SER5 Pro I got for under $300 a couple of weeks ago. I run headless Ubuntu Server 24.04.2 LTS and Docker Engine for the Bedrock server. Everything is (easily) configured in a Docker-Compose file, and the CPU never gets above 30%. Th
