This is likely the answer. I had the same thing happen with my Baratza Encore ESP. Take it apart and check that the plastic ring burr holder isn’t broken. That was my problem.

Can’t answer your question but I would strongly suggest you getting a Breville bambino and something like a Baratza encore ESP for the grinder. The Opus 2 also has negative points in reviews about the cheap feel. I wouldn't say the Opus 2 is worth the upgrade over the Encore ESP. Big positive for Baratza is that you can order almost if not completely all the parts to build one. If anything fails you can replace it yourself.

There are many other grinders now for $200 that outperform the baratza encore esp, where you don't have to worry about shims and are full metal construction. Two of which I mentioned.
