I need an alternative to a MacBook

So you want a BookMac? There are some premium laptops, but they will always differ from a MacBook. Asus ProArt PX13 with Strix Halo and 128GB RAM, lightweight and premium "Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Ultra Aura Edition Gen 11", or LG Gram 17 or 18", which are the lightest big laptops. From more sanely priced

Microsoft reveals major price increases for all Surface PCs as RAM crisis continues

I used to stay on Surface because they were the only option for a proper dGPU in a 2-in-1. But now, Asus has such great alternatives with the ProArt PX13 and the Flow X13 - and for much, much cheaper - that I really don't see the appeal of Microsoft hardware anymore.

MacBook Pro for Linux Users - we might have an answer

I have a macbook pro as well as some linux machines. I don’t think the framework really compares. The modularity—while nice—doesn’t feel as sleek. Most of what you listed is now relatively common. The closest I’ve had to an MBP as far as feel goes is a Lonovo Yoga. But I ended up with an Asus ProArt

Would getting a new Framework 13 Pro even make sense for me?

If local LLM use is a concern, have you considered looking into something with an AMD AI Max+ line of CPU? Pretty sure it will handle local LLM usage better than the B390 iGPU on the Intel chips. Something like the Asus ProArt PX13? If you were ok with 32GBs of RAM, then best buy has a configuration

Just bought Z13, not sure I like that hand feel of it tho

Your use case/wishlist sounds very much like mine, and I also considered all of the same options it sounds like you are. The ProArt PX13/GoPro Edition would be basically perfect for me if not for the 60hz display. It's so frustrating because the Max+ 395 chipset is incredible, but every device that

I found a flash drive from 22 years ago.

What's super fun now is Asus forces you to use GS for warranty repairs if purchased through Best Buy, and you have to physically go in the store for any help. There is literally no way to call the store, you'll get the India based call center no matter what you do, and they're no help whatsoever. Su

Any Windows laptop that is between MacBook Neo and MacBook Air quality wise?

Most of the brands have a line that’s an all aluminum build with clean lines. Zephyrus and ProArt lines from Asus fit this but are double the cost of an entry level air and triple the Neo. HP has one and Dell has the XPS line. I have a ProArt PX13 that’s nice but has actually gone up in price since

Worst Laptop Experience Ever

Reinstall Windows, the stock one is pure hot garbage and do not install all the ASUS crap (other than MyASUS for updates). For wifi card yeah... Switching to Intel made all the difference. Was unable to reliably game whatsoever on MediaTek. I agree it is definitely not the best experience, I also ha

i think i should order another one

2x T60p, x201T, x230T, X1 Yoga g3 - that's what I have now after numerous other models.. and now I stopped. Lenovo finally made Thinkpads boring. Switched to Asus PX13 - compact and powerful, exactly what the X13 Yoga should have been, but haven't.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 vs Razer Blade 14 (price difference in Germany)

The Razer does look like the better overall deal tbh, but I imagine the Asus will have far better battery life (the G14 series is known for great battery life). So if you value battery life, go with Asus, otherwise just get the Razer. I would also look into the Asus TUF A14 and Asus Pro Art PX13, bo
