Anyone else switching to a mini PC and feeling kind of… surprised?
I tried asus nuc 15 pro 225h. It was inaudible for my workload. You can adjust fan curves, thermal targets in bios. I also disabled e cores in bios, effectivly lowering power consumption by a lot and also improve thermals. For my workload it was ideal.

BIOS Update Process - This is my First and LAST Bee-Link PC
Asus nuc 15 pros were hard to update bios and drivers for as well. In part due to the naming convention of making the part names a seemingly random sequence of letters/numbers with 1 digit differentiation rather than calling them nuc 15 pro or nuc 14. 2nd it wasn't searchable despite having the whol

Proxmox is freezing on Intel Nuc 8 fix
Just in case some wants a tip, last summer I bought an ASUS NUC 15 Pro Tall Kit RNUC15CRHC7000021 and it is my best Proxmox homelab experience.

How is the fan noise of ASUS NUC 15 Pro and Pro+?
I received my Pro+ (285H) two days ago. I planned to use it in my homelab as media server, but also considering it for my mother to replace her old laptop. I find the fan noise annoying at all power levels (whisper, standard or performance). The fan speed curve is way too much aggressive, with a lot

Do mini-pc get bios updates?
Yeah my ASUS NUC 15 Pro has gotten like 10 BIOS updates since I got it earlier this year. And I'm very glad, because it sorted out instability issues I was having with Proxmox.

Verification; miniforum UM870 Slim barebone
I installed that RAM kit in an Asus NUC 15 Pro+, no problems at all, works like a dream. Kingston makes good gear. Related to the others, dunno why wouldn't be compatible.

[Advice] Thinking about switching from laptop to Mini PC
For your budget and photoshot needs, go with Asus NUC 15 Pro barebones with Intel Ultra 7 255H. The single core CPU works great for photoshop. Also, similar drivers as your Asus Zenbook laptop. You can add 2 sticks of DDR5 RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage later. You will need to download your OS to a USB
