10 Years ago (Sept 2015) I made a post asking what would be the "one more thing" in Sept 2025. Let's see what people get right and wrong!

Here's my list. Assume typical annual improvements to battery life and performance across the board. MacBooks: Face ID integrated into the displays. Cellular chips (C1, C1X successors) and eSIMs integrated into MacBooks. Their own wireless chips (N1 successors) integrated into MacBooks. Those may bo

'A19 Pro' Chip Coming to Studio Display 2

A ruse to distinguish their displays, like the current Studio Display has an A13 processor and 64GB of storage for cropping a webcam feed lmao.

Apple unleashes M5, the next big leap in AI performance for Apple silicon

I want to point out the M5 macbook pro has only TB4, while the M4Pro/Max macbooks have TB5. This might affect you if you're planning to run 5k/6k@120hz displays which would require TB5. The rumoured studio display, if it does have 120hz, might require this (or a hacky 2x plug into the tb4 ports). Th

Appple Studio Display owners, is it really worth that high price?

I think it was the right choice for me, but I don't think it's worth the price. Or at least, I wouldn't list "bang per buck" as a feature. I wanted it because it reportedly used the same panel as my 5k imac, so I knew what I was getting. But the downside to that is that in 2025, we're still paying "

Report: Apple ‘nearing’ mass production for M5 MacBook Pros and new Studio Display

I know a lot of people are focusing on Mini LED and 120 Hz (and rightfully so considering how much Apple will probably charge), but I do think the small quality of life improvements matter just as much. Some things I'd like to see: Removable power cable HDMI 2.1 port (unlikely) Multiple Thunderbolt

Apple Studio Display

It’s not great. The rumour is that we’ll get a studio displayed 2 this year which is kind of corroborated by both Samsung and LG announcing 5K 27 inch panels this year presumably Apple might have pitted them against each other to make a panel so we’ll see which one they’ve put in the next studio dis

2026 APPLE DISPLAY VS EIZO

My ideal setup includes an Apple Display somewhere on set as most people who see the pictures online will watch them on a bright glossy display (smartphones, MacBook etc...).Apple Displays are fiddly to use on set because of their ports. It is not as easy as buying a 10 meters HDMI or DisplayPort ca

2026 APPLE DISPLAY VS EIZO

No legacy I/O Non-detachable power cable (I know it kind of is) No easy wireless solution No physical OSD controls High price for a 10yr old display panel Premium to get matte Personally, I'd go for one of the new Asus Pro Art models before I'd go for Studio Displays. Just a better return on investm

Actually loving the new standard Studio Display?

The thing is, it’s not that it’s inherently bad. It’s that we should be able to get a whole lot more for that price point. We have the original studio display which is basically the same as the new studio display. It’s certainly not bad but it has all of the normal IPS issues like poor uniformity wi

Why DELL is not focussed on 5k 27' monitor like almost every other brand?

I have two Dell monitors and one lasted almost 10 years (still using it for my Nintendo Switch), so for me they are reliable. If they Dell ever makes a 5k 120hz, it will 100% be one of my options for upgrading my Studio Display. Yes, I may potentially lose some connectivity features with the Mac but
