On one hand, yes. On the other hand, apparently rumours say these will be A chips not M chips, and the M4 Mac Mini starts at 16gb ram where the budget laptops will probably be 8gb, so there seem to be tradeoffs there to make the build cheaper. Pricing at over $599 would be a bad move IMO

The M4 iPad Pro is a beast, but what are you actually doing with it?
Media, screens 5 to connect to Mac mini server, out and about laptop, it’s very nice to work on the go and not have to set up a hotspot. I will warn anyone getting a base m4, don’t, it quite often has to reload pages because of the 8gb of ram, if I’m doing intensive work, it’s a 1 app at a time iPad

Mac Mini M4Pro vs Macbook Air M5
Unfortunately there is no 32GB variant with Mac Mini M4 Pro anymore and it's a straight 48GB jump. My plan was to get it with 24GB RAM if I go with Mac Mini. Do you face any challenges with that?
