Apple raises price of Vision Pro, now $4,000+ after taxes in Texas
I know this is a VR sub but it should be noted the raised the price on basically all their computers not just the AVP HomePod mini: $129, up from $99 (+$30) HomePod: $349, up from $299 (+$50) Apple TV: $199, up from $129 (+$70) iPad Air: $749, up from $599 (+$150) iPad Pro: $1,199, up from $999 (+$2

For those who bought 64GB Mac, are you (un)happy?
I am finding the 64GB M4 Pro mac mini pretty useful however on planning -> coding skills it still sucks relative to frontier models hosted in datacenters. When adding unit tests for instance it faked results on error and did all kind of other dumb things that I never once ever saw with Sonnet models

Oh that’s too bad. You should have bought a bigger SSD
Weird because I have a T7 I use for music production and I’ve been getting slow disk/overload errors in logic on an M4 Pro Mac mini with 24GB ram. That machine is more than capable of what I’m throwing at it and I’ve had 2015 Intel MacBooks and M1 MacBooks work larger projects off the same drive fin

For Base M1 Macbook Air users, did you decide to keep your air over the spirtual sucessor Macbook Neo and wy?
I don’t see a reason to trade in an M1 for a neo. That’s actually a downgrade. The point of the Neo is to address the worldwide economic collapse and provide competition for all the cheap, crappy windows laptops you see on display at Walmart and target and even Best Buy. If you have a base M1 then t

[Hobby Scuffles] Week of 15 December 2025
What's the weirdest solution you've found to a problem in your hobby? TL/DR for my case: I have a Mac and a Samsung monitor and switching from HDMI to DisplayPort connection is confirmed to have gotten rid of all but two of my display issues. One of the two remaining issues it reduced greatly. The o

LOL what?
OpenCL is not a gaming benchmark either. M4 Pro Mac mini scores about half of RTX 5060 Ti on 3DMark's Steel Nomad, which is a gaming benchmark. So yes, low-end gaming class.

Starlight exporting at .1 FPS on RTX 5080, 192GB RAM, Gen 5 9100 Pro SSD, and Ultra9 275HX
You think that’s bad? I tried using Starlight Mini to upscale a single 480p TV episode to 4K, on an M4 Pro Mac mini with maxed out specs… the ETA was 2 months.

Should I go for the m4 pro?
The base Mac Mini in the USA is $599. You are spending a fortune on huge apple premium for ram and storage. That stuff depreciates quickly and can't be moved to a new machine when you upgrade. Once you are going to such a high spec mac you are much better off getting a Mac Studio. Why do you need 64

I'm looking for the right mac desktop model for AAA title/indie gaming
AAA gaming on a Mac isn't an amazing experience, not at any reasonable price anyway. I can play some games on my M4 Pro Mac Mini but it gets absolutely crushed in CP2077 if you're trying to run at a higher resolution with HDR. My suggestion is to get a subscription to Geforce Now, or build a PC and

Mac Mini M4 pro Chance to upgrade
If we see M5 Pro mini before then? A good chance. But I don't think we will. Apple can't even ship an M4 Mac mini. I don't see Apple updating a product until they can solve their supply issues.
