People regret buying Amazon smart displays after being bombarded with ads

After buying their POS Fire Tablet (and almost immediately returning it,) I'll never buy an Amazon- branded device again. It's all proprietary bloatware.

Yep, only had to buy one Fire Tablet to know I'd never buy another Amazon product ever again.

Received this email through David’s Bridal…

That said, if you have a strong no it's not a bad experience. I got an Amazon fire tablet by sitting through a presentation and saying no each time lol

We've kept our toddler tablet free and she's almost 4. We are planning a trip on the other side of the world with a 24 hr travel. Worried about keeping her busy. Debating whether we should get a Kindle fire kids tablet or something else. Any recommendations?

The Amazon kids fire tablets suck. They’re so slow and choppy. But that’s what we have. We aren’t a tablet family, but the 3yo and almost 6yo get them for trips. It works well enough for that, they’re just so frustrating for me to prep downloading shows and such ahead of a trip because they’re so sl

Mmmm free Wiffy

For a while when I was a kid, I had this Amazon Fire tablet but no wifi. I had to get into this password free wifi network from my neighbor's house, and I was lucky to get 2 bars. I'm so glad for my own internet now.

Found a bunch of discarded tablet cases

Those look like the old case for the Amazon kids fire tablet. My kids had the blue version. My youngest slipped going down the stairs once and flung her tablet into a wall. Not even a scratch on the thing.

Kids these days care more about ipads and tiktok

Amazon kiddie tablets are mad cheap. I'd say most "iPad kids" are rocking amazon fire tablets and not apple products

Does anyone else miss the weird calm of being bored before smartphones existed?

We have 2 Amazon Kindle Fires and a switch at our house. Our kids (10 and 8) always beg to bring them in the car when we leave the house. For long rides, wife and I are ok with it. But for short rides we say no. The kids beg us every single time when we are walking out the front door. "It's boring w

LeapFrog founder Mike Wood dies by physician-assisted suicide following Alzheimer’s diagnosis

Strange note on that: I tried a kids' Fire tablet before we got the LeapPad, and it kept having problems and not working right because it kept trying to get me to tie it to a paid Amazon account, even after I did it kept resetting.

YouTube kids on kids Amazon tablet

I would sack off YouTube and YouTube kids, the kids app is still hugely unregulated and full of rubbish. If she’s watching unsupervised, I’d stick to watching on the BBC iPlayer app, as then there won’t be any suggested episodes that aren’t official Peppa. Many tablets have parental controls that al
