Seconding the don’t get a fire tablet. Amazon forces a bunch of their eco-system onto even a kids profile. I would rather be fighting WSUS and a busted Active Directory than the stupid Amazon parental controls stuff.

We got the Amazon fire tablet and like it (exactly for this reason). You can download shows off Netflix or Amazon, or load downloaded files from your computer. The fire tablets come pre-loaded with a subscription to Amazon Kids which is a complete hellscape of content. In-laws bought them for our kids and we’ve had to disable pretty much everything to the point that they’re just portable Netflix machines. Not worth it at all.
