For it to work for our family I ended up giving them an adult profile because the kids was full of just random stuff I didn’t care for them having and then I also had to do a bunch of things to get the Google p

Seconding the don’t get a fire tablet. Amazon forces a bunch of their eco-system onto even a kids profile. I would rather be fighting WSUS and a busted Active Directory than the stupid Amazon parental controls stuff.

The fire tablets come pre-loaded with a subscription to Amazon Kids which is a complete hellscape of content. In-laws bought them for our kids and we’ve had to disable pretty much everything to the point that they’re just portable Netflix machines. Not worth it at all.
