Cam OG

It just won't work reliably. I've been playing with solar since the first Wyze cam was introduced. Solar panels work great on battery cams. Hardwired cameras have a MUCH larger power appetite so you need batteries in the system and a panel big enough to both power the camera and charge the batteries

I use Wyze OG. They work for my 65g and 40g, so a 29 should be no problem. Easy to place with a sticky wall mount that I got from amazon. Also highly recommend you get an SD card to go with it so you can record timelapses without having to pay for a subscription.

I have - currently - 11 Wyze cameras up and running. Yes, I pay for CamPlus and have few issues. I do have a few SD cards in cameras, but that’s mainly to record Timelapse when the opportunity is ripe. Anything from first v2s (now over 7 years old) to OGs (about 18 months old).

Even a cheap one will do. If you want recommendations, wyze OG cam is like $20 and the cheap Wyze doorbell is like $30 to $40 Stick a $5 SD card in each one for continuous recording. $50 or so and you're ready for lights...camera....crash out!

Mine are unattended 99% of the time but I have a wyze cam OG with SD card on each printer so I can monitor and cancel prints if I need to or re watch a failure and learn from it. They also do ok timelapses. Cheap, too.

Wyze cam og with SD card. It's cheap and easy to seek back to where the failure happened. I started doing this, learned a lot about what does or doesn't work and how to prepare for it in the future. My cameras just sit there on all the time recording so I never miss anything. Decent timelapses, too.

I just bought 2 new OGs and added them to my existing 2 cameras. I’ve upgraded everything and now I’ve lost the ability to record video!?! Not much of an upgrade :( Definitely not going to recommend people buy Wyze cameras anymore.

1 year later, you're still wrong. My Wyze Cam OG will record continuously to a microSD and/or record just events with ZERO cooldown. I have a new Wyze Cam v4, and it DOES have a 5 minute cooldown for events when recording to microSD. The Cameras are NOT the same in that aspect. v1, v2, v3 may also h
