Yeah, their camera subscription is ridiculous. I got the 2K Tapo camera with an SD card and a LR camera mount for ~$80. It doesn’t require any yearly fees, has AI pet detection, lets me view the camera in real time, and saves as many videos as I want.

This Tapo camera is wireless and the mounting is magnetic. So if you have any metal you can attach it to it requires no holes to mount it. Just buy a recommended SD for it and it records locally so no storage plan fees. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tp-link-tapo-2k-smart-wire-free-security-came

Have you thought about getting another camera to position better? You can get a TP-Link Tapo camera that's solar powered for like $50. Can be hosted locally too without a subscription, just drop in a microSD card and you don't have to worry about any sort of additional subscription to store the vide

Never had even one of the issues you mention. And you are comparing one of the lowest models of the Tapo camera to some of the best reolink. What's the point? Nice reolink ad.

Just dealt with the same problem, we got a doorbell camera, id highly recommend it, its a TP-link Tapo camera, cheap enough off amazon and if you buy an SD card for storage you dont have to pay for any subscription services. Fortunately for us its a decent enough estate and I managed to spot one of

What country are you in? Your first priority should be physical security - are your doors and door locks decent? Is your home well lit at night? Are your windows closed and locked when you're asleep/ out? No hiding spots, left out tools or ladders etc. for criminals? If in Europe, go for any graded

Yep, you can get a decent enough Tapo camera for £30 and the cost of a memory card. I live in a rural area with no pavement, so knock down ginger (as we called it as kids) isn't an issue, but we've got cameras for security because it's dark and there were a spate of burglaries/garage/oil tank thefts

I have multiple non AI cameras and honestly I have no interest in the petlibro AI camera even though I love their products. My TAPO cameras detect if my cats are meowing and they are set up in strategic places so I can keep track of their drinking, eating and litterbox habits. They cost about 20€ to
