The most common recommendation is the one that Costco has sold for years, the Winix C545. They put it on sale for $100 multiple times per year and sell the replacement filters for cheap. I have it and it’s great. Quiet, has smartphone controls, looks nice, etc.

Winix America has the C545 refurbished $59.99. I've purchased these, they always come with new sealed filters and are like new. Never had a single one I'd say looked used.
