GriGri vs Edelrid Pinch vs Beal Birdie?
I have used both the pinch and the grigri and I like the pinch a bit more due to its better ergonomics. The direct attachment and the straight rope feed are both more comfortable for me to use. On the other hand, I don't really like either of these devices for lead rope belaying. Both are very grabb

Belay Devices
I'd recommend anything with assisted breaking, whether that's a GriGri, NEOX, Pinch, Smart, Mega/Gigajul or anything else that's rated for it. I haven't really got on well with the Trango Vergo or Wild Country Revo, but just about any other assisted breaking device works well for me

Belay Devices
So after reading everyone else: Wild country Revo. Even if you dont hold the brake line as its an interia based belay device will stop the fall. Better if u teach them but thats atleast the safest ( not the better nor the most usefull)

Another round of grigri vs neox.
Neox for single pitch trad, gri gri for multi pitch sport. Mega jul for single pitch trad when using two ropes, giga jul for single pitch sport when using two ropes. Autobelay and something like the wild country Revo which is rated as an automatically locking belay device could be a solution.
