It’s quiet … too quiet 🤐

Well... i bought 8x4TB WD Red SN700 and 4x8TB WD Black 1 in autumn last year... so I am ready:).I just had a look and for one 4TB WD Red SN700 I payed 250$ and for the 8TB WD Black 350$ :))).Might as well sell all of them and buy a car:)).

Which NVMe for Proxmox OS and VMs (on Minisforum UM890 Pro)?

For your Minisforum UM890 Pro, the ideal two-NVMe combo is: Slot 1 (VMs/Datastore): A high-performance, high-endurance drive like the WD SN850X. Slot 2 (Proxmox OS): A reliable, but more budget-friendly drive like the WD Red SN700 or a similar-class consumer drive. This setup balances performance wh

NVMe SSD for cache vs NVMe for fast storage for apps, docker etc for my use case

One thought- the WD red sn700 is an excellent choice as a Nas nvme. It is definitely a good choice for caching. If your intention is to store the music and photos on the nvme itself, which I assume is the last option with the two TB nvme, and you aren't writing to it very much once you do the initia

Does UNAS Pro 8 Support PCIe 5.0?

Honestly I'd likely go for something like WD red. They are decently priced and gen 3x4. WD no longer manufacturers NVMe, they are made by SanDisk, so you could also see what SanDisk has available. Obviously Seagate, is another option. https://www.sandisk.com/en-ap/products/ssd/internal-ssd/wd-red-sn

9800X3D + RX 9070 XT build review before I order (slightly over budget)

the 9070xt gigabyte is 72k (computech) instead of a wd sn700 it's better to get a crucial p510 for less than 18k it's gen 5 and amazing read and write speedschange your psu to a superflowr leadex III 850. In India only superflowr or corsair rmx psus are good. also you can swap your ram to this TeamG

Warning: Avoid ACASIS— Stick With OWC

Do NOT buy ACASIS. I bought 2 Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 enclosures that FAILED. Hard drives get very, very hot. Probably around 70-80 degrees Celsius. Also the throughput for Thunderbolt 4 / USB-4 a meager 1GB/sec when using the NVMe M.2 slots with WD RED SN700 1TB SSD's. Trying to return the units for

My first attempt at a pc part list

You could get a WD sn700 instead of the 850 and put that money towards a better Powersupply if you ever want to upgrade. Also you should get a cooler from BeQuiet or Arctic. You want that German quality.

Yet another "help with strategy" post.

Well of course. A high powered SSD would be a huge waste anyway, as any performance would instantly be bottlenecked by - well, everything else. So currently I have a couple of 990 Evo Plus, and basically monitoring prices on more of them, WD SN700, or the models you mentioned - NM790 and Crucial P3/

UGREEN DXP480T NVME - which drive ?

I have the DXP4800 Plus, so my use case is different as my NAS is not an all NVME NAS, but I went with SK Hynix P41 2tb. During my research, I found: 1- A lot of people say to go with nvmes designed for NAS, like WD SN700 - which is a gen 3 nvme with high endurance (2000 TBW on 1tb). However, the pr
