Finally time to build a PC for my girlfriend! She does not want me to go overboard, but I still feel like I kinda did.

Replace the ram and main nvme, 64gb are unnecesarry, 32 is completely fine, and look for a 6000mts CL30 kit instead The SN850X is kinda overkill, no need to overspend on storage, an SN770 is perfectly fine too Also, why intel? You could very easily get a B650 motherboard and a cpu like the 7600, 760

Sandisk WD Black SN8100 2TB SSD Review: The fastest overall consumer SSD ever made

$550 for 4TB is insanity considering 1 year ago the SN850X 4TB was $230.

Is this the start of prices rising for ssd? (It is 8tb)

Do your research on the SN850x. It has some weird pausing / freezing issues with high rates of random read/writes. I have one of the 8TB models inside of a ACASIS TB5 case and have experienced these oddities. Just a heads up.

Don't you just love misleading prices

So, as I've been around this DataHoarding area of reddit for a bit now and realise I'm not weird and the only one. I, due to limited funds, look for the odd deal on Amazon now and then with drives. It being Prime Day I thought I'd look. I know their Prime Day is generally shit but you never know.

Things to consider when buying Framework 16

I made these notes for myself while looking at Framework 16. But I thought it might be useful for someone else, or maybe you just want to share your thoughts about it in the comments below.

I am in the process of updating/rewriting these notes on a regular basis.

Is this the start of prices rising for ssd? (It is 8tb)

It anecdotal, but last year I bought on sale the SN850X 4TB with heatsink for $270 and it's list price was $350. That same drive is now on sale for $375 and it's list price is $522. Both last year's and this year's prices are from the SanDisk store.

Micro Center sales guy told me I should buy SSD now because prices will only go up

I passed on a sale for the same SSD for $599. I thought it was stupid expensive. And since it was a new product, I just needed to wait until it went below $400. That price point was based on my WD SN850X 4TB purchases for $236. Not too many years ago, the only PC components that cost over $600 was t
