WD SN850 4TB here. My PC froze to death once, when I tried install app from local file, but after reset all was ok. Installed Cyberpunk and Dead Space from steam without problem. Uninstalled KB5063878.

Just a quick update on the laptop. It was the SSD. I got a new SSD from wal-mart for 120 bucks (Microcenter wanted $170 for the same drive), installed windows again and I'm up and running. The SN850 supports Host Memory Buffer, and Microsoft hosed support for that with Windows 11 24H2. It was horrendously bad. Don't know if 25H2 fixes it.

WD drives have their own different issues. SN850 and SN770 reported by others, and me personally I've had issues with the SN750 and SN550. Never forget the Sandisk drives that used to up and die on their own.

System is not bottlenecked except in this particular game. I have 32GB RAM and I tried running the game on a fresh reboot with nothing else open. Its also running on a WD SN850 NVME

Ah okay, I know that the SN850 series had various compatibility issues (requesting more power than the ports would deliver, IRQ Conflicts with other peripherals, etc.).
