You definitely can do better here few recommendations from my end Go with 7800X3D instead of 9800X3D its much cheaper for almost the same performance Both the 7800X3D and the 9800X3D dont need the X870 board a good B850 Board like Gaming X will do the job X870's only for hardcore overclockers I woul

I have the WD BLACK SN850 2TB in my PS5 & it works great. Been using it since 2022 with no issues at all.

I have an SN850 I took the heatsink off of, and it was on there real tight and it was my first time so that drive got BENT during that process. it did not come online for a few days but has been solid since then. However I have had a 4tb inland performance plus drive straight up just die and take my

Across a WD SN850 4TB, SN750 1TB, HP NVME of uncertain make in my Omnibook Ultra, Samsung 990 Pro 4TB, 990 Pro 2TB and an SN9100 Pro 8TB (only had this one for a few weeks) I've so far had no problems anecdotally. The SN750 is also installed in banana mode due to missing standoff on a PCIe addin car

In what way are the sn850 not high quality? It was the Samsung that had a lot of failure problems a couple years ago which have been resolved. They are both excellent drives for most things the SN850x that OP has usually outperforms the Samsung.

I'm not a big fan of used storage but if it's cheap enough for you to take a chance on that's up to you. I've never heard of an 810, looks like it might be an oem version of the sn850 (non-x) which was a fine drive. It would probably be fairly old though, the sn850x came out and replaced it like 4 y

i went through this last month with my M4. for reliability i'd look at the Samsung 990 Pro or WD Black SN850X. both have solid controllers and good heat management. some of the cheaper drives do fail over time especially with constant read writes. the 990 Pro has been super stable for me and works f
