r/mechanicalkeyboards was basically the custom Pok3r sub for a long time. I bought a used Pok3r a couple years ago for $30 and have it as a back-up. Still solid devices. The most noticeable difference is how much we were going for the bezel free look then.

Ducky, Pok3r, and Anne Pro 2 were the gateway drugs when I started looking into Mechanical keyboards. There are better keyboards out there but those 3 are still great.

The Pok3r is what made me be interested in mechanical keyboards.

Kits were definitely starting to become more popular around 2019, but hotswap had barely started to become the standard. I remember the DZ65RGB and Tofu65 combo getting some decent traction. I still have love from my completely soldered Box Navy SP SA Grab Bag board. First one I built. I wrote a lot of great essays/stories in college with that thing. I s

2014 is when I started out too. I was between the pok3r and a Filco. Ended up going for the Filco and still have it, though it never gets used anymore.
