Professors gave me a nice keyboard. Cleaning people stole it.

Kits were definitely starting to become more popular around 2019, but hotswap had barely started to become the standard. I remember the DZ65RGB and Tofu65 combo getting some decent traction. I already didn't see people talking about or recommending the Pok3r much when I got into the hobby in 2017 th

"Budget" keyboards are getting so good

These new cheaper ones are shitting all over my old boards. Pok3r with MX Clears feels so bad compared to some of these new gens lmao. I still have love from my completely soldered Box Navy SP SA Grab Bag board. First one I built. I wrote a lot of great essays/stories in college with that thing. I s

Vortex Pok3r | Not bad for 9 years of daily use

Vortex released a hot-swap 10th anniversary version of the Pok3r in late 2020. Much prefer the standard Pok3r to the 10th anniversary version, despite the availability of hot-swap on the 10th. Vortex pulling back on the U.S. market a bit? I notice the MK dot com site no longer lists Vortex as one of

Fun 60 Ultra TMR with Holy 60

The Fun60 doesn't use the common 60% mounting points, so to use it in a GH60/Pok3r 60% case you would need to remove the stock mounting points and install new ones. For the Holy60 this is going to be particularly hard because it has so little material on the bottom to line up the new mounting points

picked up an used HHKB and I hate how much more I like it compared to my custom builds

I have an old Realforce 87U TKL 55g Topre and still love it. It’s my daily driver. Am interested in an HHKB. I have an old programmable Vortex Pok3r 60% w/ soldered Cherry MX Greens. I still have a hard time with the 60% layout, and get frustrated. But I’m hoping the HHKB will be more intuitive and

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 30, 2025

I’ve been away from the community for several years and coming back has been disorienting, in a good way! I love the new smaller form factors (65-75% are very interesting to me), lot more custom. My questions are: if you need the escape key as well as ` and ~ keys, how easy is it to get used to the

Does anyone currently make a keyboard/pcb with split backspace and split right shift similar to HHKB or Zeal60? Interested in getting something to replace my vortex pok3r to add a little more functionality and coming up empty. Most that I'm finding are from 7+ years ago, can't seem to find anything

Where's all the good Keychrons at?

Well, yeh, but there are gobs of great 60% cases already compatible with an existing Pok3r/GH60 PCB like the DK61 or Y&R 6095. https://github.com/komar007/gh60 https://www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesale-gh60-case.html https://www.amazon.com/s?k=gh60+case https://ymdkey.com/collections/case-plate-pcb The

Is the 60 HE V2 worth it?

I have a Pok3r RGB, v1 I think. Sometimes when If I don't hit the space bar close to center I can feel the slight tilt. That's what I mean by the feel. The other reason is the 60HE v2 is on my radar due to the easy programming and split spacebar design, especially considering the price. My daily is
