I would not use a hardwire kit that doesn’t have a voltage cutoff. It risks draining the battery too much and being unable to start the car. Don't know about that other brand but I have Viofo A329S and I like it a lot. It also supports large SSD which you can hide inside the car if your cam gets stolen. Parking mode power hungry? I don't think so. It depends which parking mode you choose. Personally I use hybrid low bitrate impact mode.

Why are most of the comments NOT specifying which dashcam they are talking about?I just bought a VIOFO A329S because I felt it was the best compromise between camera quality, license plate reading, channels (went for 3CH) and parking modes. Also got the HK6 hardwire kit so hopefully it'll work well

Viofo A329. Many dashcams out there have a hard time reading plates even with a little movement. This one is pretty good. My only issue with it is when I park in direct sunlight it overheats and shuts off after about 2 hours.
