Steam Machines turned into Steam Deck and SteamOS. Steam Controller built the controller API Steam uses, not to mention facilitated the creation of thousands of controller profiles that Steam Deck relies on to make KB&M games work with a controller. Index is on life support sure, but it's supported

A game this slow without controller support is crazy
They're really nice for non-gaming tbh, but there are some types of games that work really well with the touchpads. They have fully customizable controls, and in Steam you can even customize controller layouts per game/program. I tend to stay away from any fast-paced games that require precise mouse

The Daulsense Is A Great Controller And Neat Piece Of Tech I Dont Know Why People Dont Like It
I wish you could just go out and buy one but unfortunately, they've been discontinued for years. I really hope we get a Steam Controller 2 soon! Steam did implement this configurability into every other controller through Steam input so a Dualsense is the closest we can currently get.

Temper your expectations with the new Steam Controller. It's not magic. It doesn't fix the core "issues" of the SC1.
