Steam hardware survey doesn't recognize Steam Controller
I doubt they will, considering that the steam controller doesn’t get any firmware updates that require changes it doesn’t really need any significant amount of maintenance to keep supporting, its unlikely that valve would have any reason to even discontinue it fully unless they ever make some major

11 years ago today Valve released a demonstration of what would become the Steam Controller
While the finished product was different than what is in the video, it was an amazing change from what standard controllers were at the time. Back buttons. Duel stage triggers. Touch pads!? Plus the ability to modify the controller to do damn near anything you want with key combos, and action sets..

If anyone is considering/wanting a steam controller, here is a comparison
Well since you can't buy them from Valve and have to source them through ebay or other secondary markets, not a lot of people are 'considering' buying a controller that was discontinued over 5 years ago. I have my Steam Controllers (yes plural) and love them and will use them until I die.

"Can't wait for Official SteamOS!" What does this statement even mean?
Steam Machines turned into Steam Deck and SteamOS. Steam Controller built the controller API Steam uses, not to mention facilitated the creation of thousands of controller profiles that Steam Deck relies on to make KB&M games work with a controller. Index is on life support sure, but it's supported

Legion Go + Steam Controller = EPIC!!!!! 😆
That random company is called Scuf who were first to put back paddles on controllers back in the Xbox 360 days, it has been owned by Corsair since 2019, Valve was sued in 2021 and lost $4 million. That being said Valve discontinued the Steam controller in 2019 so it had little to do with this, the c

My Steam Controller finally died. What's an equivalent replacement controller?
Why not just use a spare one you have laying around? Anyways, Valve discontinued the Steam Controller in 2019. They will not repair it. It does cost you nothing to politely ask Steam Support, just expect the answer to be no. If you are thinking of tossing it, you maybe should try opening it to see i

Steam Controller review slips embargo, controller to cost $99
No internal battery was a huge plus, because finding third party batteries that aren't crap years later is really hard. It's hard finding good ones even for products that have sold millions like smartphones, handhelds, and console controllers. You are having to go with some unbranded battery hoping

[Leak] Steam Controller Pre-Orders coming soon. Available for $99.
Apart from all the technical differences mentioned in the other reply, their software solutions also get regularly flagged as potentionally malicious or harmful. Whether that's real or just a digital signature issue, I'd be happy to pay $20-30 more just for the peace of mind of having a guaranteed s

Impressive considering it was removed from Steam over 5 years ago
I bought 4 Steam Controllers because the back piece kept breaking and they stopped selling replacement back pieces. I have a bunch of almost Steam Controllers in a box 😅 When they finally discontinued it, I had to learn to play with just the amount of buttons as everyone else.

Got a Replacement Steam Controller Finally!
There’s an entire community that likes this controller—what are you talking about? That said, I get it. What I really want is a controller with a right trackpad, gyro, and dual-stage triggers. If someone made one like that, I wouldn’t stick with the Valve Steam Controller, especially since it’s disc
