Dedicated low power consumption rig for Frigate
Id still jsut recommend a n100 mini pc or similar. I bought a DXP2800 Ugreen 2-bay to dedicate to Frigate and it works great with my 10 cameras and openvino as detector.

DPX2800: Does this setup make sense?
Why install Truenas? If it's because you think everyone does it, be aware of positive bias. I believe most Ugreen users don't because they're happy with the default, but a vocal minority do. There's nothing wrong with Truenas, but there's also nothing wrong with UGOS. Both are linux, just with diffe

DXP2800 setting it up as a Minecraft server and some other questions
Hi! I also have the DXP2800 with a setup very similar to yours: 2 HDDs in RAID 1, running several services using Docker. Hosting a Minecraft server on this system is totally possible and very easy. I recommend using a manager like Crafty (https://gitlab.com/crafty-controller/crafty-4) or Minepanel (

What’s the trade off?
I use my dxp2800 mainly for storage for my photography. Upload and download are pretty snappy. Their AI driven recognition tools built into the photos app makes searching for things pretty easy (very similar to Google photos people recognition, place recognition, etc) if that's what you're looking f

I'm worried to use the NVME SSD without a heatsink
Dear Community,
I recently purchased a UGREEN NASync DXP2800 and am excited so far! However, I've noticed that the NVMe SSD slots do not accommodate heatsinks. Since my NVMe SSDs are double-sided, like most modern SSDs, I'm concerned about inadequate heat dissipation on the top side.
Here's you ca

Lexar NM790 1 TB for read cache and file storage ?
If you plan to use them for HDD read cache, they’ll work, but there’s a catch. The NM790 uses HMB (Host Memory Buffer), which requires a small amount of system RAM to manage its internal data map. Most NAS operating systems (like UGREEN’s UGOS or TrueNAS/Unraid) don’t support HMB for NVMe drives. Wi

NAS Noob, Please Help Me
I think the vast majority of people here would not recommend mixing server and client use on the same system. You are more likely to get the worst of both worlds. TrueNAS runs heavily customized OS based on Debian Linux that has guard rails and processes that make it impossible to use a bare metal T
