Ich baue mir nun ein NAS und einen MiniPC und verlasse iCloud Fotos

hast doch 5GB kostenlosen iCloud Speicher?

Time Capsule support is dead in macOS 27, but you can keep the hardware alive

Depends on what you want to use it for and how much data you have. For local backups and storage, Time Machine the protocol (NOT Time Capsule the device) still works fine. You just need a NAS or storage device that supports acting like a Time Machine backup destination over modern SMBv2 or v3 protoc

Ugreen NAS DH2300 Disappointment?

I wouldn't call it wasted yet. If the DH2300 can at least do normal file shares reliably, you can treat it as the boring storage box and run Jellyfin on something else, like the old laptop or a cheap mini PC, mounting the NAS share over SMB/NFS. That keeps the Ugreen software mostly out of the way a

Report This Potentially Illegal Action to KickStarter

Dang, UGREEN goofed. I have a DH2300 and I'm happy but I can see how some people got pissed about it. I guess they underestimated the demand and their cost due to parts shortages... Now they are trying not to sell at cost or at loss. I can see how people are pissed, but I can also see how this can b

New to NAS, Looking for HDD to store family pictures and photos on

If you haven't already found them, check out nascompares on youtube and their site. They have a lot of info that might be useful. If you just want simple storage, have a look at the Ugreen NASync DH2300 too, that will give you quite a bit more hardware for just about the same money as that Terramast

Replacing google photos, some feedback requested

Immich is the closest contender I think, but you need to have a good enough NAS, unlike my DH2300. The ugreen default photos app is already enough for me personally. Both have what you're looking for

Help choosing a NAS device mostly used for family photos and videos

UGREEN has a decent app that will auto sync photos from your phone and computers and such however you want to configure it. For purely storage, the DH2300 or DH4300 Plus would be perfect. I find it hard to recommend Synology, because every choice they seem to be making regarding their NAS is just "T

NAS Overkill?

The DS225+ ($339) is good and would not be overkill, but I would highly recommend getting larger than 2TB drives you're considering. In fact, the price difference from 2TB to 4TB or even 6TB drives is quite small, so consider that if you want to have some space to grow. Other options to consider if

Starting setup

I just ordered the new announced DH2300 from Ugreen. It’s a bit cheaper and maybe perfect to start with. I’v had a Synology in the past, and worked perfect. Maybe you could look at a different setup for your disks. A 2 bay wil offer you raid 0 and raid 1. 2x 16TB is also much more expensive when one

Raspberry pi 5 M.2 board for a home NAS

For $200 you could get a real NAS. I get it if you want to do it as a project or to learn how to set up your own NAS with extra capabilities. But I figured I'd point out that... The Ugreen NASync DH2300 is around $210, $188 if you buy it on their store. GMKtec's 4 slot NVME NAS is around $230 Beelin
