Dang, UGREEN goofed. I have a DH2300 and I'm happy but I can see how some people got pissed about it. I guess they underestimated the demand and their cost due to parts shortages... Now they are trying not to sell at cost or at loss. I can see how people are pissed, but I can also see how this can b

NAS Overkill?
The DS225+ ($339) is good and would not be overkill, but I would highly recommend getting larger than 2TB drives you're considering. In fact, the price difference from 2TB to 4TB or even 6TB drives is quite small, so consider that if you want to have some space to grow. Other options to consider if

I second this suggestion. Get not only one nas, but two. One you keep at your place a and second one that you keep at a location offsite (family member, friends house, etc.). This give you s FULL control and ownership of your data, is available over the internet should you desire, so it can operate

NAS. Buy or build?
Just know that the mobo/CPU combo is OLD. Nothing wrong with old, but it won't have the latest tech in terms of jellyfin encoding. It will have slower ports like USB 2.0 and slower sata and maybe not even NVME. It will also pull down MUCH more power than a newer device. You can get a N100/N150 mini

MinisCloud OS? N5 NAS
I have tried and own just about every single name brand NAS. QNAP and Synology are top notch but over the past year I am avoiding Synology since they are trying to sell you their own hardware and my $1500 12Bay constantly shows me warning messages on my hard drives since they are not Synology. They

Recommendation for an upgrade of a 15 year old NAS
I went from a DS213 to the dh2300. So a similarish situation as you’re currently in. I can pretty much do anything I could need: photo backups (local AI identification and facial recognition etc.) (also an option to easily remove all duplicate photos (and files). — unlike the dxp models, you cannot

Based this fiasco, recommend me a new NAS.....
The loud minority. Yes, UGREEN goofed. I have a DH2300 and I'm happy but I can see how some people got pissed about it. I guess they underestimated the demand and their cost due to parts shortages... Now they are trying not to sell at cost or at loss. I can see how people are pissed, but I can also

For home use, did you regret going 2-bay instead of 4-bay?
I recently got the DH2300 and added the UGreen US3000 battery backup. My drives are a 10 terabyte and an 8. For us it's going to be plenty because I regularly clean up folders. Sometimes we take photos on our phones left and right but we really only want a few of them saved. I do keep movies on it f

Nas 2026
