Ugreen NAS DH2300 Disappointment?

I wouldn't call it wasted yet. If the DH2300 can at least do normal file shares reliably, you can treat it as the boring storage box and run Jellyfin on something else, like the old laptop or a cheap mini PC, mounting the NAS share over SMB/NFS. That keeps the Ugreen software mostly out of the way a

Replacing google photos, some feedback requested

Immich is the closest contender I think, but you need to have a good enough NAS, unlike my DH2300. The ugreen default photos app is already enough for me personally. Both have what you're looking for

Help choosing a NAS device mostly used for family photos and videos

UGREEN has a decent app that will auto sync photos from your phone and computers and such however you want to configure it. For purely storage, the DH2300 or DH4300 Plus would be perfect. I find it hard to recommend Synology, because every choice they seem to be making regarding their NAS is just "T

Would a subnet router be a potential fix for tailnet access to NAS that can't install Tailscale/Docker?

Thanks, I did see that mentioned in a few of my searches. It not being officially supported doesn't bother me as much as the lack of any user experience "documentation" of actually running this does. I'd rather not be the guinea pig considering 1. I'm new to all of this and 2. my DH2300 is also new

Can I upgrade to another Ugreen NAS without reformatting? I've been impressed with the value and ease of use of the DH2300 but I didn't know I'd be giving up docker apps and more AI functionality.

Yes, in the download section just go on the dh4300 plus, that docker version works flawlessly on my dh2300, dunno why ugreen didn't include it in its app store

Help me pick a NAS

I started with a dh2300, upgraded to a dxp2800. Don’t see a point in going to a 4 bay unless you’re storing massive amounts. I’m running 13 containers in docker on it as well(tailscale, adguard, fail2ban, etc) without needing to add ram, 8gb standard is plenty. It works for pretty much everything, a

NAS Advice_Beginner_apple user_ synology 223j VS ugreen dh2300

I went from the ds213 to the DH2300 from Ugreen. Its the budget machine from the brand, but in terms of computing power a major upgrade. The same can be said about my dad, he switched from a ds218 plus to the DXP2800 from ugreen (also 2 drive NAS).We were both very surprised at its speed compared to

FygoOS for the win!

If a $200 UGreen nas meets your needs, thats great, but the model you are refereeing to is the DH2300 which is so weak, it doesn't even support Docker, and thats coming directly from UGreen themselves. So no, I would not choose to buy the DH2300 over a Lifetime License of FygoOS which does come with

Work data storage nightmare

For important business files, have a robust backup is needed. A single drive is just a failure to happen. u/socaldisney is right. Copy it all with duplicates to the new drive. For coping files you can use Teracopy to copy and verify all the files. There are several A.I. tools you can use to sort out
