Just got my DH2300 and hard drives.

I have the exact same setup as well: Dh2300 with two 4TB WD Red Plus. Just set it yesterday and have been enjoying it. Some things to keep in mind: once you set it up, it’ll take a while to sync the two drives if you do RAID 1. You can start adding files but it’s apparently slow. I don’t know if it’

jellyfin VS plex VS theatre app

The Theater app is awesome. I use it on the DH2300 and have thrown a few movies at it. I was surprised to get an interface similar to Plex or JellyFin, but I like that I didn't have to adjust any settings to get the correct background, cover art, etc for all the movies I ripped. I've been buying DVD

Just got my DH2300 and hard drives.

System is pretty good as far as accessing movie files remotely. If you’re using it as a file server and just playing the movie with no transcoding pretty much any NAS will work. I read people attaching a storage device to their router and that works too for this purpose. But if you want hardware tra

Is DH2300 enough for plex/jellyfin

I currently use Jellyfin on my dh2300, it handles it perfectly, even with tailscale for remote use. I warn you that you'll need to install the docker app manually, as it's not available in ugreen store for the dh2300.

Dh2300 does not support docker but....

Select the DH4300 Plus from the ugreen website, download the Docker app, load it onto your DH2300, and you're done. It works perfectly. https://nas.ugreen.com/pages/downloads

https://imgur.com/a/btla0iE This photo was taken a couple of years ago, after I tried pumpkin carving for the first time. Pictures like this are currently backed up on OneDrive, but as I work to reduce my reliance on Big Tech, the UGREEN DH2300 NAS feels like a lifesaver for securely storing all my

Is the ugreen nas a solution for me?

There really isn't a 100% turn key solution. Synology has the best developed app eco-system, but you pay a huge tax for hardware and they're always scheming how to extract the most money from their customers. You'll have to learn some basic docker and copy some tutorials with the UGreen, but it's mo

Thinking of getting a DH2300, will use it to store movies to watch on Apple TV. Will use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week. My question, is there any issue with only turning it on when I need it?

Upgrade to the DXP 2800 if you want any advanced image functionality as Immich is in a different league compared to the photos app Ugreen's natively use. The ARM CPU and RAM limitation will definitely present hardware issues with Immich vs the N100 from the DXP 2800. If a really basic image server i

NON-Sponsored DH2300 reviews?

I run Jellyfin on my DH2300. it's great little device for this. I have a small collection of movies I ripped ranging from 480p to 1080p which are viewed on my TVs and Amazon Fire Tablets. I use the jellyfin apps for each of these client devices. They run great and I haven't had any slow downs. I've

Will a DH2300 be the best for my use case?

I have the DH2300, I use it to watch stuff, .mkv, .mp4, anything really. Encoded as h.265 or h.264, it doesnt matter, it can handle it. It has a native video player that can play all of these files as well (accessible on pc, phone, laptop, some tv types etc.) So for your use: Series - works perfectl
